On December 23rd I returned home to my apartment complex after a Christmas dinner party hosted by a client. I decided to take the elevator while the person I was with decided to take the stairs. As they left the person said, "That's why you're going to get stuck on the elevator." I walked in the elevator, pressed my floor number, the doors closed, and the elevator didn't move. I then pressed the "open door" button and nothing happened. I pressed every button and nothing happened. Wouldn't you know it, I was really stuck in the elevator. I didn't panic as panicking wouldn't have aided the situation. All I could do is hit the alarm button and wait/hope help would arrive. I remained calm while stuck in this little space not knowing how long it would last. But I mentally prepared to be there for a while. I could hear the fire trucks and knew help was on the way, but still didn't know how long it would take for them to get me out. Then the lights went out. Still I didn't panic. I switched my little light on my phone on and continued to wait patiently. Eventually the lights came on, the doors opened, and I was able to walk out and upstairs to my final destination, which was my bed.....

I tell this story to let you know it's almost a direct correlation with life. There are people you have in your life now that you expect to be with you throughout this journey called life. Unfortunately some of those people's journey may come to an end unexpectedly. Other people you envision in your life my decide to take a different path and leave you on your own. Some of those same people will even wish bad things to happen to you. You may be trying everything to move up in life but nothing seems to be working. You feel stuck and confined in a small place with nowhere to go. You may be in a dark place as well not knowing when it will end or when you will see the light. When everything is going bad and all seems lost, don't forget to do with I did with my phone. Don't forget to shine your little light. No matter what the world throws at you, don't forget to keep the light on in your spirit. Continue reading in comments below ⬇️
