Abington Senior High School is located five miles north of Philadelphia in a suburban residential area. The school district has an enrollment of 7,466 pupils who come from a variety of community settings and socioeconomic levels. The 2013-14 enrollment is 1,746 pupils with 570 in the senior class. TRAVEL ADVISORY: SEPTA has informed us that they will be completing work on the railroad crossing at the intersection of Easton and Susquehanna roads from Tuesday, Sept. 3 through Monday, Sept. 9. The intersection will be CLOSED during this time. Please be aware that detour signs will divert drivers to Jenkintown Rd. to get between Fitzwatertown and Easton roads, as SEPTA is required to direct traffic to state roads only. However, please keep in mind that other local roads will remain open and accessible during this time . Please allow extra travel time during the first week of school to account for this closure.

CAR WASH! Presented by Abington Football Booster. This Saturday, August 24th, from 10am to 2pm, at Abington Fire Company, 1920 Horace Avenue in Abington. All proceeds will go to the Abington Football Program.

This is an update to inform you that PECO has restored power to the Abington School District Administration Building, which means that all District phones and systems will be fully operational again tomorrow, August 20th. We thank you for your understanding of the situation!

Please be advised: Skyward student and family access will be closed starting on Monday, Aug. 12 as we prepare for the 2024-2025 school year. Skyward will re-open at noon on Wednesday, Aug. 21. During this time, Skyward will remain accessible for new student registration only.
Last school year, a golf outing (The Hamsteak Open) was initiated in honor of the late Christopher Hamsher, renowned English teacher from the former Abington Junior High School. Proceeds from the golf outing support an annual scholarship for a graduating senior in honor of Mr. Hamsher.
If you are interested in participating in the event this year or donating to it, please see the attached flyer with all of the information. This year’s outing will be held on Saturday, September 7th.

We were to have had Dr. Alice Swift and Abington Senior High School students represent the District at the Remembrance Ceremony of the 80th anniversary of D-Day last week at the Edward R. Micciolo War Memorial Park on Old York Road.
We are that Abington Senior High School was again designated as a "No Place for Hate" school by the Anti-Defamation League for the 2023-2024 school year. This year, the ADL trained a group of students at the high school, as well as teachers Ms. Sandler Ligi and Ms. Katz, to be Anti-Bias Peer Trainers. These students have now become the school's No Place for Hate Committee, and are already planning events for next year, including turn-around training for a new batch of student leaders!

Our Abington Senior High School Class of 2024 is getting ready to graduate! Yesterday they returned to their old elementary schools for the annual Grad Walk, and then came back to campus to celebrate together at the Senior BBQ.
Less than a week to go until the Class of 2024 graduates! We were to celebrate the future plans of our students during Decision Day last week!
Congratulations to Olivia Crawford for being awarded with the Noel Soccer Foundation Scholarship! Each year, the foundation provides an initial one-year scholarship to graduating high school student-athletes to be used in their first year of studies at a college or trade school. Scholarships are awarded to students based on their academic achievement, commitment to the game of soccer, and contributions to their school and local communities. Many congratulations to Olivia as she embarks on her post-secondary athletic and academic career at Gwynedd Mercy University in the fall!

Today, we remember and honor the brave.
Today we celebrated the students who will be completing their time in the ACTIVE Academy, and wished them the best in their next chapter. Additionally, this morning's breakfast was a chance to thank our many community partners in our area, as well as our first group of ASHS student interns! Thank you for providing meaningful community-based learning experiences for our ACTIVE students!
Thank you to our parents and guardians who joined Dr. Swift last night to review the status of the goals of her 90-day entry plan since becoming Principal at the end of January.
