I’m preparing for a two day event at the Destrehan Plantation on the 29th and 30th this month. So considering that it is geared towards flowers this coming week is all about propagation stations and flower vases. Oh and I’m heading to my wood supplier to get some more Canary Wood, Black Walnut, and Birdseye maple to make a small cutting, bar boards, and possibly some custom coasters.
So if there’s something that you’re interested in let me know soon.
I’ll keep you updated as to what is happening

I have spent all day sanding, cutting, and laying out these pieces for flower vases/propagation stations.
This pile of wood has a very large assortment of different types of wood. Redwood, Black Walnut, Curly Maple, African Mahogany, and Spalted Maple.
I am doing an event at the end of the month which is mainly about flowers and propagation. So I will be putting these together and I have several cheese boards that need completed.
So bear with me let’s see what we can get done.
The Paddock Farmers Market
Destrehan Plantation - A Living History Museum
The Floral Cottage Florist
Floral Perfections

So these are the four boards that were completed this week.
They’re all buttered up and ready for their new homes. I will let them sit for most of the day before buffing them off. The Big BBQ board and two of the small ones will be ready for delivery leaving one available.
Now on to vases and propagation stations. I am hoping to get 5 or 6 knocked out today.
If you or know someone that would be interested please send me a DM.

I should wrap this big board up today and I hope to get a finish on it this evening.
When I am making a live edge board that will be coming in contact with food I like to coat the live edges with a good coat of polyurethane. This will help keep anything from absorbing into the edges and making it easier to keep clean in the long run. As for the rest of the board I will treat it with a food safe finish. As to what that finish is going to be I haven’t made up my mind yet.

Okay so you saw the two boards that I finished up for Suzie yesterday. However, you didn’t get to see the third board that was part of the trio.
I wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to get this due to the knot that I was working around.
Well I did a little adjusting and captured a very small piece of the live edge so it’s not perfectly round but, it’s BEAUTIFUL!

All buttered up and ready for their new home.

I was able to get the three boards cut and sanded out to a 320 grit finish yesterday.
This morning they received their # and logos. Now it’s time to sand off a little burn and give them an oil bath.

I’m working on a large commissioned 24” x 16” live edge cutting board design this morning and I’m trying to figure out a handle design for it.
This is what I’ve come up with making the board 28” overall.

This beautiful piece of Black Walnut is about to produce three beautiful boards.
I’m having to carefully move the template around some knots however, this board has a ton of figure and is worth the extra effort to help bring it to life.

I just received pictures of the giant custom charcuterie board from my customer. He is very happy which makes me happy.
This thing is more of a grazing board (37.5” x 16” x 1.25”) than a charcuterie board. He told me jokingly he didn’t know what was going to be more expensive……
The board or the charcuterie items to fill it. 😊 Thank you again for this amazing opportunity.

The long overdue release of board #017.
As you can tell by the board number I’ve had this one for a while. I gave you a sneak peek a couple of weeks ago but, now it’s complete and ready to find a new home.

This board has been a blessing and a blast to make. It’s all boxed up and ready to head out to its new home in Florida.
Steve thanks again for allowing me to build this for you and hope that you enjoy it as much as I did making it. Now I can only speak for myself however, I can’t wait to see it in its new home and in use.

This big beauty is done and ready for its new home.
It’s been wrapped up in multiple layers of bubble wrap and topped with stretch wrap to keep it secure.
Now to figure out how to box it up.

I just finished this beautiful charcuterie board and I’m trying to get some pictures of it before packing it up.
So where do you take pictures of a 37.5” x 16” charcuterie board?
