Rule #6 of Disc Golf: DON’T DIE. With the outdoor thermostat stuck on the Lucifer Setting, we’re cancelling practice today, Tuesday, June 21. If the extreme temperatures continue as predicted, Thursday practice will also be cancelled. Stay tuned to our Facebook and Instagram or fb.com/WMYDGC for updates and cancellations. Jack has already proved himself to be a pro athlete in so many sports. It’s great to see him growing in his putting skills as he becomes a rockstar at Disc Golf. Can’t wait to see how hard and how far this kid goes.

Disc Golf is flippin awesome but not dying is awesomer. PRACTICE ON TUESDAY, JUNE 14 IS CANCELLED DUE TO EXTREME HEAT. Per MSHAA Guidelines, all activities should be cancelled for Heat Indexes over 104 degrees. The National Weather Service is estimating a Heat Index of 105* in Ada today. Be safe, stay cool and HYDRATE HARD. Cross your fingers for cooler temps on Thursday!

Tonight at 7/8PM we will be having a virtual player meeting. If you won’t be able to make that there will be a video posted on YouTube shortly after the live meeting.
📕Registration will be still available on walk up, please comment on the Disc Golf team page if you are planning to be a walk up player. So we can make appropriate arrangements or be prepared.

We wanted to take this opportunity to congratulate *** REECE SCHROEDER *** of Lowell, MI for earning Professional Disc Golf Association Membership this season! At ONLY 13 YEARS OLD, Reece accepted #192022 and will be competing in the West Michigan Youth Disc Golf ClubFALL FRENZY tomorrow and Thursday Garfield Park Disc Golf Course!
Reece owns the title of the MOST ACES in our club and has racked up more than ANY OTHER PLAYER OR COACH on the team! He has been playing about 4 years EASILY DRIVES OVER 350 FEET off the tee. Being one of (if not the) hardest throwing players on the team, Coach Andrea Lange had asked Reece to break in her brand new SockiBot Destroyer by "Reece-Smashing" it into a tree on hole #7 at Garfield. Hole 7 is a long hole that only few discs survive unscathed. Reece threads the needle like an absolute PRO and parks it less than 10 feet from the pin leaving Reece and the other players on the card speechless, except for Coach Andrea.... :-) "I said INTO a tree!"
Following in Coach Andrea's footsteps, Reece's very favorite disc is the Innova Discs MAMBA. He's coined the phrase, "NEVER LEAVE A MAMBA BEHIND!" which the rest of the team has adopted, respected and upheld. Reece also enjoys making YouTube videos and working on building his channel that features disc golf tutorials, disc introduction videos and just some of our favorite team rounds on the course. Reece's favorite course comes as no surprise as it is in his backyard is Fallasburg Park Disc Golf course in Lowell.
Reece is working hard to earn a place at the PDGA Junior Disc Golf World Championships in Peoria, Illinois in 2022. Reece is ACTIVELY SEEKING SPONSORSHIP (Fisher Disc Golf, Disc Baron Innova Discs, Handeye Supply) for his upcoming season as he knows the tournament life comes at a pretty price. When he's not crushing plastic, Reece is working hard part-time and saving harder to fund his disc golf passion.
He is an absolute joy to have on the team, an outstanding big brother to little bro Jesse, a outstanding role model and ambassador of our sport. Reece takes the Team Motto of "BE A DECENT PERSON" very seriously.
Congratulations, Reece! Your hard work is paying off! Your coaches (Andrea, Bradley, and Zac), your parents and your teammates are all very proud of you! Have a great round tomorrow, kiddo! Never forget to !
