light therapy is a non-invasive treatment that enters the skin’s layers to improve the skin.

In the 1990s, NASA began studying LED’s effects in promoting wound healing in astronauts by helping cells and tissues grow. They were also used to grow plants 🌱up in space 👨‍🚀 🌌

Today, estheticians commonly use LED light therapy to treat a range of skin issues.

I often use LED light therapy, together with other treatments, such as creams, ointments and facials, to give you the best results.

LED light therapy uses various wavelengths that correspond to different visible colors.
Each color penetrates the skin at different depths:
🔴 Red LED light therapy may reduce inflammation and stimulate the production of collagen, a protein responsible for younger-looking skin that diminishes with age.
🔵 Blue LED light therapy may destroy acne-causing bacteria (P. acnes).

LED light therapy helps treat a variety of skin concerns and conditions, including:
• Eczema.
• Mild to moderate acne.
• Psoriasis.
• Rough, scaly, precancerous spots on the skin (actinic keratosis).
• Rosacea.
• Sun damage.
• Wounds.
• Wrinkles.

☀️ UV RADIATION FACTS ☀️
▪️ Too much ultraviolet radiation (UV) from sunlight is dangerous.
▪️ Nearly half of UV radiation is received between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., when the sun’s rays are the strongest.
▪️ Even on a cloudy day, you can be sunburned by UV radiation.

⚠️ WHAT CAN YOU DO
▪️Always use sunscreen. Apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with a SPF of 30 or higher on all exposed skin 20 minutes before going outside. Reapply every two hours, or after working, swimming, playing or exercising outdoors.
▪️Look for PHYSICAL sunscreen that contains ZINC OXIDE & TITANIUM DIOXIDE for protection against UVA & UVB rays.
▪️Limit time in the midday sun. The sun's rays are strongest between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Limit exposure to the sun during these hours, even in winter and especially at higher altitudes.
▪️Do not burn. Sunburns significantly increase the lifetime risk of developing skin cancer.
▪️Seek shade. Shade is a good source of protection. However, keep in mind that trees, umbrellas and canopies do not offer complete sun protection.
▪️Use extra caution near water, snow and sand. These three materials reflect the damaging rays of the sun, which can increase your chance of sunburn.
▪️ Avoid sun tanning and tanning beds. UV light from tanning beds and the sun can cause skin cancer and wrinkling.
▪️ Wear protective clothing. Wide brimmed hats offer good sun protection for your eyes, ears, face and neck. Sunglasses that provide 99 to 100% UVA and UVB protection will greatly reduce eye damage from sun exposure. Tightly woven, loose fitting clothes will provide additional protection from the sun.
▪️ Watch the UV Index. The UV Index provides important sun safety information to help people plan outdoor activities.

Remember to use exfoliants only 3x week and use your retinol every other day to avoid irritation/sensitivity. 👍 if you are dealing with redness/sensitivity take a break from anything exfoliating for a few days to a week..... use more hydrating products instead + oils (vitamin e).
