In this recent case, we spruced this smile up with 8 new veneers and crowns! This previous smile was heavily impacted by Bulimia Nervosa.
Patients who self-induce vomiting are more likely to experience dental erosion compared with healthy individuals without bulimia nervosa. That's because vomiting after a binge also brings large amounts of stomach acid into the mouth. The acid can break down and wear away tooth enamel, the hard outer layer of teeth that protects from decay, sensitivity, and fractures.

This was done with a treatment called ICON + composite bonding for the areas that were too deep to pe*****te.
ICON is a dental treatment of white spots. This technology removes white spots without drilling or anesthesia!

THE PROCEDURE:
• clean the tooth surface
• white spot treated 3x for 2 minutes - this removes the outer remineralized layer of enamel that had previously been blocking calcium and other ions from entering the tooth
• application of drying agent (ethanol)
• application of the resin infiltrant
• material soaks in for 3 minutes
• remove excess material
• light cure the material
• material added again for 1 minute, excess removed, and cured
• finish with polishing discs or burs
