Our team was honored to co-host the Aiken-Barnwell Coalition for Su***de Prevention Summit. The coalition includes Aiken Barnwell Mental Health, Mental Health America of Aiken County and the SC Department of Mental Health.

During the summit, Katrina Shealy SC Senate spoke about mental health, addressing how we can reduce the stigma surrounding mental health by choosing appropriate words when speaking about and the importance of checking in on one another. Thank you for shedding light on and supporting mental health in our community!

Also, thank you to Senator Tom Young and Rep. Melissa Oremus for supporting the Coalition's mission to raise awareness about mental health in our community.

The coalition includes Mental Health America of Aiken County, Aurora Pavilion Behavioral Health Services, Aiken Barnwell Mental Health Center and the South Carolina Department of Mental Health, and each of us plays a role in decreasing su***de numbers to zero and ending su***de.

"One of our biggest initiatives is to create awareness and education to ensure that those in our community know where they can get the help they need when they need it," said Andrea Gregory, Director of Business Development with Aurora Pavilion Behavioral Health Services.
