2022 has been an amazing year for us. We have had tremendous growth, and reflecting on the year almost feels like a lifetime. Its amazing to me how much we have engaged in Ohio innovation, from Universities, to startups, and nearly Fortune 500 companies, I do not know what to anticipate for next year. Project highlights include sensor innovations that will produce an automated system to analyze cancer cells, commercializing passive exoskeleton technology using muscle biomimicry to aid those with muscular dystrophy, advanced fluid monitoring systems for micro particle detection to keep wind turbines running, RF sensors to monitor the health of components in the power grid, smart shoe autonomous data collection for training the elite athlete and of course our passive radar technology for locating and identifying drones. We are applying our knowledge in AI and advanced signal processing at the hardware, software, and firmware level to produce autonomous perception systems that enable the future of autonomous sensing.

We got something sweet today! You may be wondering what it is.. 😉 I’ll give you a hint, its name is Henry.
Amazing! Our device not only withstands up to 500,000 volts, but our Bluetooth circuit board is still communicating with the receiver! I really didn't expect that, and didn't think it would work up to this voltage on our first try. Pretty neat effect of the toroid swinging, at such a high voltage there is a significant force of attraction toward the charge on the metal surfaces of our device.
It is simply amazing to me how rapidly we are growing. A couple weeks ago, it dawned on me, wow, a week is like a month of progress. And I can say for certain, last week was equivalent to months if not years of progress, the door to assist NASA is opening and you better believe we would like to get involved. They say shoot for the stars, but I think it would be nice to hang out on the moon.

700,000 Volts, or 3 Million? xd
Welp we finished a couple prototypes of a new device a couple weeks ago, and I get a message this week that the first thing the customer wants to do with it is strap it to a wooden rod and see how much voltage it can withstand. We didn't blow it up this time, unfortunate lol, next time! lol Shout out to Quality Switch Inc. who has this amazing facility, if you ever want to blow up your new products as well you should really pay them a visit! But on a serious note, they really have an impressive facility.
Next time though I want to see lightning, if the device survives 700 thousand volts, which would be a feat truly lol we will have to crack out that capacitor bank and see how it does against simulated lightning.

These past couple of weeks have been significant for us. Last week I received good news about our passive radar patent after waiting over a year for its final version to be reviewed by an examiner. Half of it was accepted straight up, the other half will require some work, but it's looking really good.
Today we had our first successful test of our augmented reality (AR) passive radar system! A significant milestone, this first AR proof of concept indicates the direction of an RF test source with a 3D arrow hovering in front of you. Our next version will be trained to automatically locate and identify drones, cell phones, routers, Bluetooth devices, and eventually active radar emissions. As you can imagine there are a lot of applications for this tech, but for now we are applying for grants to develop a passive radar for Drone Detection, and when the technology matures we will proceed to the automotive industry.
