Update: 9/15/24@9:00 p.m.- Cleveland Massillon Rd. has reopened. Fire damage limited to garage and vehicles- no injuries.

Road Closure 9/15/24 at 6:50 p.m.
Cleveland Massillon is closed to traffic between Shade Rd. and Ira Rd. due to a structure fire in the 1800 block of Cleveland Massillon.

Thank you to the staff and students at Richfield Elementary School who provided snacks and encouraging messages to our police officers. Sgt Shaffer and Officer Oubre attended their parade in honor of Patriots Day 9/11/24. Sgt Griffith is pictured with the children’s appreciation baskets.

Bath Township Police acknowledge the sacrifice of the men and women who lost their lives on 9/11/01. We will never forget.

UPDATE 8/31/24: Dog has been reunited with its owner.

8/30/24 at 4:30 p.m. - Found dog, female, lab mix, N Medina Line and Ranchwood Rd. She is currently at the Bath Township Police Department and doesn’t appear to be chipped.
Anyone with owner information is asked to contact Bath PD at 330-666-3736.

The Bath Police & Fire Department are participating in a training scenario today, August 27 at 2:00 pm, at Temple Israel on Springside Dr.
Please do not be alarmed if you see increased presence of public safety personnel and apparatus in the area during this time.

TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Ira Road is closed between Revere Road and Majesty Court due to downed power lines. Ohio Edison has been notified and motorists are requested to use an alternate route. Updates will be posted as we receive them.

Traffic Advisory 8/6/24@ 7:30 pm:
High winds have caused power outages and trees down throughout Bath Township. Current road closures include:
- Yellow creek at Bath Rd.
- Sourek at Bath Country Dr.
- W. Bath Rd. at Rolling Meadows
Ohio Edison has been notified and currently working to restore power in affected areas. Should you encounter a downed wire or tree touching a wire, do not attempt to touch. Severe injuries could result.

Male chocolate lab found in the area of Oak Knoll Dr. on 8/3/24 at 2:30 pm. Currently in the care of the Richfield Animal Warden. Please contact Bath PD at 330-666-3736 with any information on the dog’s owner.

This handsome male cat was found abandoned in a blue crate at the Bath Community Park on 7/27/24 at 2:00 pm. The crate has the name “Nova” printed on the side. Bath Township trustees are requesting letters of interest and resumes from residents interested in applying for the vacant Bath Township Fiscal Officer position. Per the Ohio Revised Code, applicants are required to be 18 years of age and a Bath Township resident. Due to the nature of the work, accounting and budgeting experience is highly preferred. The Fiscal Officer vacant position posting will remain open until August 5th, or upon the vacancy being filled. Interviews will be done on a rolling basis as qualified applicants are identified. Salary for Ohio Township Fiscal Officers is set under the Ohio Revised Code Section 507.09. Inquiries and documents can be sent to Kasha Brackett at [email protected].

IR 77 SB is closed due to an overturned semi. The interstate is closed southbound between Ghent Rd. and SR 18.

Granger Rd Bridge Replacement

Granger Road to be closed for 180 days.

Summit County Engineer Alan Brubaker, P.E., P.S. would like to alert residents and motorists of an upcoming 180-day closure of Granger Road Bridge over Yellow Creek starting Monday, July 8th, 2024.

The Granger Road Bridge being closed is on Granger Road East of Timberline Dr. and West of N. Cleveland Massillon Road. This closure is to replace the existing structure that was originally built in 1913, and rehabilitated in 1972, with an 87 foot long, 32-foot wide, concrete structure for vehicular traffic. The new bridge will feature wider shoulders for pedestrian and bicycle safety.

The detour will be posted using the following roads: Cleveland Massillon Road, Bath Road, N. Hametown Road, and Granger Rd. Access to homes and businesses will be maintained during this work.

Today, Bath Township honors and celebrates the retirement of Detective Dan Lance, a remarkable individual who has dedicated nearly four decades to serving and protecting our community with unwavering commitment and integrity. Over the years, he has been a beacon of strength, resilience, and justice, working tirelessly to ensure the safety and well-being of all citizens. His exemplary service has been characterized by a steadfast commitment to truth, a sharp investigative mind, and an empathetic approach to those in need. Detective Lance has been a source of inspiration and guidance to his colleagues, always willing to lend a helping hand or offer advice. His leadership, kindness, and unwavering moral compass have left an indelible mark on Bath Police Department and the entire Bath Township community.
As Bath bids farewell to Detective Lance, we extend our deepest gratitude for his incredible service. His retirement is well-deserved, and while he will be greatly missed, his impact will continue to be felt for many years to come. We wish him all the best in his future endeavors and hope he enjoys a retirement filled with happiness, health, peace, and family.

Yellow Creek Rd between Oak Knoll Dr & Top-O-Hill Rd is closed due to a tree that had fallen over night. The Summit County Engineers Office has been contacted and crews will be working to get it cleared up as soon as possible. Please seek an alternate route until further notice.

Temporary Road Closure 6/7/24 at 1:26 p.m.:

Bath Rd. near the intersection of Hillandale is closed in both directions due to a tree and wires down near the intersection. Ohio Edison is on scene and working to repair the downed wires and open the roadway.

Bath Township has specific regulations in place for transient vendors, also known as door-to-door salespeople, operating in the township.

A permit is required for any vendor soliciting goods or services door-to-door within Bath Township.
Do not hesitate to request to see the permit. The vendor is required to carry it with them at all times and show it upon request.
If a vendor is unable or unwilling to show you a permit, it's best to decline their offer, ask them to leave your property, and report the incident by contacting the township at 330-666-3736.

TRAFFIC ADVISORY: State Route 18 westbound is closed from Hametown Road to the Health & Wellness Center due to a 5 car accident. Motorists are requested to use an alternate route to avoid the closure. Updates will be posted as we receive them.
