We are an all-volunteer, 501 non-profit neighborhood organization founded in 1997, located in Akron, Ohio.

Since its inception, WHNO has been working to build and strengthen the ties between the people and businesses in our neighborhood. West Hill CDC services the entire West Hill area from Glendale Cemetery, up Maple St., west to Rhodes Avenue.

New leaf pick-up schedule! West Hill is scheduled for Wednesday, December 4.

We didn't mean to leaf you hanging, Akron! Due to weather, we're adjusting the leaf removal schedule. Please see the graphic for our new dates, which will differ from the yellow postcard you may have received in the mail.

Things are about to get real spooky on Saturday, October 26 at West Hill Halloween! 🎃👻🦇

Each house will receive a free luminaire to display outside.

Full Schedule of Events:
🍬 1-3pm: Trunk-or-Treat for the littlest ghouls and goblins and Church of Our Saviour parking lot on Crosby Street (between Oakdale and Woodland Ave).

👻 3-5pm: All-ages community Halloween party at the Oakdale Pocket Park with costume contests for kids and pets, games, snacks, ghost stories, and a costume parade.

🍫 5-7pm: Trick-or-treat in West Hill by following the trick-or-treating map

📽 7-9:30pm: Free showing of Coco at Church of Our Saviour

21+ Only:
🍻 7pm - 10pm: Pick up your passport at the Oakdale Pocket Park for the West Hill Halloween Booze Trail. Get your passport stamped at a few West Hill spots and then come back to the park for a free drink, hot cider, and a chill night with your neighbors by the fire. Costumes are not required, but encouraged for the costume contest.

Calling all young artists! As part of this year's Wonderfest, we're holding a drawing contest for children ages 8-18 to create drawings of how they see our West Hill neighborhood.

Adults can register their young artists at: form.jotform.com/242447473125052.

The first 50 participants will be will be provided with complimentary drawing kits to complete their drawings. Kits will be available for pick-up TOMORROW at West Hill's Free Outdoor Movie - The Princess Bride at 88 Oakdale Avenue (free tickets at bit.ly/WHAsYouWish).

Drawings must be completed and turned in at the Balch Street Community Center by 8pm on Saturday, September 28.

All the drawings will be displayed and the winners announced at Wonderfest on Saturday, October 5. More info and free tickets to Wonderfest at bit.ly/wonderfest2024.
