at SB has now graduated from to weekly institution. so move over , , and , your all growns up (ya growns up kid) and ready for your shine.
now we didn’t “invent” prime sunday, but we did make it sexy, and it has been our weekly anchor for the last 3 (4?!?!) years. so if ur still in the Mede on this holiday weekend, cruise by and grab a slab. see u soon.
…
fun fact: i’ve got a stupid amount of food pics in my phone and a third of them are shots. i’ve got more beef pics than a millennial has selfies. i’ve got more rotisserie photos than has of “tiny horses”. and i’ve saved them all as if they were graduation pics of my 3 sons.
S-P-A-M is back and H-O-T-T-O-G-O this week on the

come by and close out the summer, because we’re crushing bullseyes like that Turkish dude; smashing Yurchenkos like Biles; and dancing ‘like the whole world is watching’ like Raygun. KALUA PORK B’FAST BURRITO for brunch this weekend on the
banana leaf braised pork shoulder, garlic fried rice, soft huevos, p. jack chez, heirloom toms, picked j’s, scallions.
i love this for you.
you need this.
christmas comes early.
…
CHICKEN LITTLES are on the this weekend.
lil’ chix nuggy sandos (said in baby voice)- fwhyed chicky nugg nuggs wit dhill pickies, may may, icey letty, and swoft bun pillows. (okay enough of that, i’m starting to annoy myself).
now I know what ur thinking, why would we need to make these mini sandos when we already have a 💣 chix sando, the chicken lickin’ and chix wings already on the menu?
simple answer: because we can.
and who doesn’t love fried chicken in all its forms?!?! (except for ‘boneless wings’, that’s the stupidest thing i’ve ever heard. that’s a marketing team that’s run out of ideas trying to feed lazy people. u know i’m right.)
once again flexin’ some culinary muscles. don’t sleep on these. they’re gonna haunt your dreams.
…
YOOOOO.
u missing keys for ur whip?
we found these near our booth at the street faire last weekend. Alameda Ave.
if these our yours, come by the store and ask for Lauren. please bring your pink slip for the car, proof of insurance, two forms of mail that show residence, a note from your mom, and a buffalo nickel. just to be sure.

SAVE THE DATE: JULY 27 and 28, 10AM-6PM
Let’s talk about FOOD! 😋 It’s not a Downtown Alameda Art & Wine Faire without some delicious food from our wonderful vendors, especially when it involves crab or it’s cooked right in front of you!
Can’t go wrong with the original crab garlic fries from Gourmet Faire 🦀🍟 or the always popular Lockeford Sausage! 🌭 Another new crowd favorite is Coastal Paella - they joined us for the first time last year and we are thrilled to welcome them back again. 🦐🥘 The line may be long but the paella is worth it!
What are you looking forward to ordering?

…
the RIB SANDO is BACK on the for the weekend.
shredded pork rib patty, napa slaw, bbq sauce, pickled jalapeños, onion rings, buttered-toasted brioche. it’s summer in a sando, fourth of July in the palm of your hand, and the definition of Cali livin’ on a plate. maybe the nation is on fire, and all your crypto was grifted in the black out, and your husband forgot to replace the toilet paper in the bathroom; no worries, this sando can right all those wrongs and turn that frown upside down.
so if ur done choking on Trager smoke in the sweltering backyard heat, and can’t stomach another burnt glizzy from the BBQ short king, then cruise by and smash one of these bad boys.
oh and BTW we’re gonna be at the ART & WINE FAIRE next weekend, slingin SMASH BURGERS, ELOTE, COLD NOODS, and passing out good vibes (free). so many great LOCAL ARTISTS, come support and celebrate this amazing community.
also, also we’ve got PEACHES & CHEESE and PRIME SUNDAY all on the secret menu board.
the weekend is here peeps. let’s go crush!!!!
…
the rumors are true: i’m coming out of semi-retirement to help host the SB station at this years BEER STROLL this SATURDAY!!!
do u have a ticket?
oh hell yeah, we’ll see u sunday.
you don’t?!?! well skibidi toilet, what u waiting for???
this event is always a fun one, and we’re gonna do our usual ratchet sh*t. is sandbagging some items: lumpia, wings, korokke, et al. imma build a mini fryer in the parklet and drop it like it’s hot. maybe some corn dogs, Lo has been threatening to make chix nuggets (so good), and anything else i can dump into scalding oil. don’t ask what the food schedule is gonna be, cuz i’ve got no idea. we’re goin full omakase, dealers choice, and it’ll be a Cracker Jack surprise for everyone.
fun fact: back in the day there used to be toys hidden inside boxes of food (cereal, Cracker Jacks, Kinder Eggs, even loaves of bread). but someone choked and sued and ruined it for everyone. we can’t have nice things.
anywhoo… cruise by sunday and say ‘hi’. ✌🏼🤘🏼

Our Rock & Roll Beer Stroll is coming up and we could not be more excited! 🍺🎶☀️
Each of our host venues will be prepared for your arrival with craft beer tastings (plus small bites at some stops), and the best part is that they are within easy walking - or strolling - distance. 😉
We are thrilled to share that .bones will serve as both a host venue and provider of bites during the Rock & Roll Beer Stroll! Chefs Mike and Lauren are always cooking up something delicious, so this will be a stop you won’t want to miss. They will be doing a few different SECRET MENU SPECIALS 👀 swipe for a peek of some potential options (wings, fritters and dumplings, oh my!) plus the BEER CHILI DOGS 🌭 they made for last year’s beer stroll, which were a HUGE hit.
Head to www.AlamedaStrolls.com for more information and tickets. Cheers! 🍻
Pork Belly Noodles. Chicharron Chili Crisp. Carrot. Chives.
tonight.
crushing.
SWEEDED MEATBALLS on the tonight.
bison meatballs, mushroom gravy, asparagus (just the) tips, potato crisps.
yes, it’s (cornstarch slurry and ground oatmeal, instead of flour and breadcrumbs). and they’re ‘sweeded’ not ‘swedish’, i have no idea how to make Swedish meatballs, but i can sure sweede the hell out of any dish (see last post about ‘be kind rewind’).
also doin PORK BELLY NOODLES with chicharron-chili crisp (read that again and swipe left) i hope Dave Chang doesn’t sue me for using or appropriating this name. 🙄
we’re ALSO crushing Burrata and Beef Skewers tonight. soooo many things. all the things. let’s gooooooooo!!!!!
time stamp: 3:15pm
PRIME RIB will be ready to slice by 4.
still crushing these specials tonight:
burrata
kalua pork belly noods
sticky rice
wings
tiramisu
finish the week strong. let’s goooooo!!!!
this weekend includes:
Burrata
Wings
Kalua Pork Belly Noodles
Sticky Rice
Prime Rib (sunday)
Tiramisu
and we’re efforting a couple more surprises…
Pork Noods are the same ones we ran last week. it was so good, we re-upped and we’re goin again.
Sticky Rice is BACK (see we listen to ur requests and read ur comments). steamed rice with lemongrass pork, salted coconut cream, chili oil, fried shallots, toasted peanuts. this dish crushes every time we sell it. def don’t sleep.
gonna be a fun weekend. cruise by and say ‘hi’.
…
🤘🏼🤘🏼
thanks for the pic from Argentina. that meat plate is bananas!!!
TIRAMISU and BURRATA are both BACK on the tonight.
Lauren went classic with the T-su: coffee soaked lady fingers, whipped cream and macerated strawberries. it bought me back to the time i ran with the bulls and helped this dude Mikey paint a ceiling. how yaaaa dooooin… 🤌🏼🤌🏼
Burrata is getting dressed with some nice olive oil, maldon salt and a roasted tomato and eggplant caponata, dried fruit, crostini and arugula. we’ve made this dish (or some version of it) for the last 12 years (Donbs Ferry days). and it still holds up. untouchable.
other notables tonight:
prawn ceezer - miso cezr, poached prawns
beef skewers - skirt, asp, chimi
sweet potato korokke - panko crust, chili oil
we’re running all of these tonight. sold out of Lamb Leg last night (that was bussin, so the kids say (am i doin it right?)). so cruise by and say ‘what up’.
“i mean if I’m here, and you’re here, then isn’t it OUR time? and what’s wrong with a little feast on our time?” no truer words have been spoken by Jeff Spiccoli. i hope you got them ‘tasty waves’ bro…
LAMB LEG. KOROKKE. and CHEESEBURGER LUMPIA are on the tonight.
we’re spinning another lamb leg as I type. gonna come with parmesan mashed po’s, and chili oil (it really doesn’t matter what it comes with, this thing is so good off the rotisserie).
sweet potato korokke are back as well.
and…
cheeseburger lumpia. seasoned ground beef wontons, cheddar cheese fondue, pickles, 1k dressing. it’s outrageous, absolutely ridiculous, an abomination and yet so fun. don’t sleep.
we take our job seriously, but if you’re not having any fun, then it’s just work and you’re doing it wrong. and if you don’t get the joke, oh well, maybe next time. it’s just food, stop putting labels on it, and let it rip.
oh, and almost forgot to mention the the CORN COBBIES are back on the MENU for spring and summer. our take on street corn, and it’s undeniable.
weather is great peeps, dust yourself off and let’s get goin. yoooooooooo!!!!!
happy day-after Mother’s Day. hope y’all had fun, and spent some quality time with loved ones.
we had a great weekend and a PACKED sunday, and it was great to see our lovely regulars and meet A LOT of new faces. THANKS so much for taking the time to stop, introduce yourselves and say ‘hi’. sometimes it may seem a little intrusive in the middle of the chaos, but these connections are always welcomed and believe me your acknowledgments go a long long way.
we did this KALUA PORK BELLY NOODLE that was an absolute banger.
also spun a garlic & herb marinated LAMB LEG which is my personal fave (little secret: we ordered too many legs, so watch for this to drop again on weds or thurs this week).
swipe left to see a pic of me and Lo from moms day 2020. full blown pandemic, all to-go orders, just me, Lauren and teresa, got our asses handed to us, was so tired and exhausted. literally one eye open like i’ve got bell’s palsy. my how things have changed. been an amazing 4 years, wouldn’t trade them for the world.
cruise by this week. gonna be calmer with amazing weather. parklet is the spot right now. see u soon.
don’t get caught slippin this weekend. the book is filling up. don’t be that guy.
we’re full tilt, all hands on deck, specials off the chain, we’re burning the boats, gonna be epic.
…
chili cheese katsu
chicken katsu, no bean beef chili, cheddar mozz, chili oil and rice
lauren has been crushing this katsu special on the the last few days.
i’m on the other side of this rock smashing this tonkatsu kare (swipe left).
this weekend is gonna be more of the same, setting it up and knocking them down. get in soon. get in often. and as always is gonna smash.
let’s go.
…
this day is just like you, drop dead gorgeous.
this is ‘jealousy weather’. this is what we’ve been waiting for. this is who we are.
and with the weather, comes it’s bounty: corn is here. it’s still early (a little spotty and small), but it’s sweet and tender. these CORN COBBIES are the side dish for tonight’s . AND imma spin that rib-eye EARLY (ready by 2:30), so if ur looking for an early sunday supper or a late sunday brunch, i got you.
GRIDDLED PRAWNS & NOODS are on tonight’s as well. went like gangbusters last night and we’re gonna go one more time.
GSC CHEESECAKE. we have a couple more, don’t sleep on this.
KOROKKE and BURRATA are in play as well. stacked lineup tonight. let’s do this.
get out and be counted peeps. win the day.
…
DO-SI-DO CHEESECAKE is on the tonight.
baked vanilla cheesecake with do-si-do GSC crust, leche de cacahuete, toasted p’s, and condensed milk.
imagine yourself eating this. think about how happy this is gonna make you. everything seems possible, there are no wrong answers, and for a brief moment everything is right in the world. it can be that easy. why are you holding on so tightly? just let go. see u soon.
…
🍪
we don’t always spin bones.
sometimes we turn flowers.
…
BURRATA is back in the today. fresh mozzarella with roasted tomato caponata, eggplant, dried cherries, arugula and crostini. drizzled with some sexy olive oil and Maldon sea salt, this dish is undeniable.
KORROKE is RTG as well.
AND we’re doin PRAWN NOODS tonight as well. griddled chili prawns, yakisoba with bok choy and sprouts. it’s gonna crush.
it’s a beautiful day out on the island. go get it peeps. ✌🏼✌🏼see u soon.
…
RTG=ready to go
here’s what we are efforting this week on the
KOROKKE never disappoints, filled with sweet potato and cheddar.
BEEF SKEWERS are griddled skirt steak sticks (say that 5x’s fast) with kalbi glaze and bok choy
NY SANDO is a hot roast beef sando with shaved paper thin slices of steak.
WINGS are still undefeated. we’ve got a ton (had to cut a but load of chix for caterings this week), so we’re not running out.
BURRATA is back. no clue what the set is, but we’re running it tonight. i mean it’s cheese, you know it’s gonna crush.
Lo is making CHEESECAKE with a 🍪 crust.
PRIMESUNDAY is on Sunday.
and the is gonna roll on the weekend with the Worlds Finest Breakfast Burrito anchoring the menu. (a lot of u threw shade at the burrito and voted it off the island a few posts back (granted it was a loaded post that pitted an all star line up). but i still stand by it that this may be one of the best menu items we’ve ever made. yeah, it’s sayin a lot, but it’s on that level.)
see u soon peeps. humpday LFG.
…
BTW. i’m going on vacation next week, so come by and say ‘hi’.
happy 420 to all you crazy kids, hanging out at the local dispensaries hoping Snoop Dogg shows up, like Linus waiting for the Great Pumpkin.
couple things today:
we gonna do the NEW YORK STRIP again tonight. it’s a solid dish, great cut of meat, and sexy as all get up. and BTW just bz we don’t IG post, doesn’t mean we’re not doing specials. it’s been crushing the last 2 days. last night tonight.
also in honor of 420, if you come in for dinner and ask your server “tell mike to make me a snack” i will make you something off the menu. it may be a bowl of cereal or bacon wrapped hot dogs or cheese fries. but it will be something absolutely ridiculous and in the spirit of 420. happy stoner xmas.
HAPPY 20th ANNIVERSARY to . love that store, and Barbara, and Ron, and Jillian et al. they made these cute (delicious) olive oil cakes for the occasion (swipe left). they have been the anchor on Park Street for 2 decades (!!!), and wonderful ambassadors for the business district. cheers.
on a somber note, we said goodbye today to Maggie, owner of , a wonderful person, teacher, mother, friend. what she did to transform that historic Flower shop and greenhouse into a quirky and vibrant store is nothing short of miraculous. she will be missed, and I hope we all keep her energy alive and part of downtown Alameda.
it’s been a weird one peeps. let’s roll with the punches. get out and be counted. and if i haven’t told you already “i love you” (not you Patrick, but everyone else).
