Turner Gun Works
07 FFL specializing in custom loaded ammunition
This has been a fun and testing project. But it only takes one load to shoot well to make it all worth it. These are Berger 210 VLD hunters loaded .065” off the lands. She’s a shooter!
It was a hell of a weekend. We had a double ram slam Saturday and Travis (my brother) got his Buffalo this morning. All were taken with ammo made here at the shop. He hasn’t stop smiling all day!
More ammo headed out the door.
Burned the midnight oil last night to get 600 rounds of 6.5 PRC loaded with 156 gr Berger EOL Elite Hunters. Someone is gonna be very happy next weekend after I drop these off!
Happy New Years from Turner Gun Works!
Our family tradition is leaving bourbon and cookies for Santa because he needs a stiff drink by the time he gets to our house. From our family to yours, Merry Christmas.
These are the core of what we do here, we load custom ammo. First pic is a 450 gr .460 Barnes TSX next to a 150 gr .308 SP. The second pick is a 245 EOL next to same 150 gr SP. We can load any bullet a customer might want to match your rifle. The 450 gr will be loaded in a 460 Weatherby Mag and the 245 gr EOL will be in a 300 PRC. I love this job.
After two years on backorder, these bad boys finally showed up.
Another happy customer with a nice Texas whitetail taken with our custom loaded 308 Win loads. I love getting texts like this from our awesome customers.
From my family to yours, we wanna wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. I hope you get a day of good food and family.
I was able to make a quick run to the range yesterday and I’ve found a really good 308 Win load that shoots consistently accurate and is very consistent in velocity across 4 rifles. .5” groups are about as good as I can personally shoot and is more than good enough for hunting. We are also seeing runs on ammo and loading components and as we move into an election year, I’d encourage all of you to get your ammo needs now while I can get components. I suspect come March or April you’ll see another shortage on ammo and components.
Was able to punch my cow elk tag this weekend in NM. Sadly was the only elk we saw but I’ve got my winter meat secured. Enjoyed the family time way from work and the shop, but ready to get back after it. There’s still time to get your ammo before your hunt. Give us a call and we can get you taken care of.
Last minute range trip to find a load before next weekend’s elk hunt. Was able to find a load that I’m happy with. Now to find the elk and get my winter meat.
I’d say that load will shoot. Forgot to take a picture of the group but it measured .60” for a ten shot group
I love bartering. I traded a 5 gal bucket of 30-06 brass I had laying around the shop for 1400 pieces of 7.62x39 brass, at roughly a one to one trade. Time to get loading on this new project.
What do you do with 5.56 cases that are damaged and cannot be reloaded……..Easy convert them to 300 BO and load them up of course! Hope everyone is having a great Labor Day weekend! Enjoy some family time this weekend.
Another successful hunter from last weekends NM pronghorn season opener. This one was taken with a 300 Win Mag loaded with 180 gr. E-Tip. I love seeing pics from successful customer hunts.Pasamonte Hunts Gus Wood
Another one bites the dust. That’s a happy customer with a great Pronghorn taken with a 6.5 PRC.
Hunting season is right around the corner. We have plenty of bullets ready to be loaded in your cartridge of choice.
What I wouldn’t give to just fire this one time in my life. 105 MM Howitzer case as a gift from a friend and customer.
We’re gonna have a happy customer tomorrow when I drop this off at his place!
Customer sent me this from his sighting in this morning! Shot a .67" group to boot!
Another successful and enjoyable evening in the shop. Got some prairie dog medicine loaded up.
Had the supervisor come out for a surprise inspection. Showing me how to properly trim brass for match accuracy.
Love working with friends. Got a sweet care packed and a note that made me die laughing. You’re the man Gus!
Getting brass ready to load for a customer’s 6.5 Creedmoor gas gun.
