Elevation Farm and Orchard
Striving for a natural and sustainable way of life. Eventually turning the shop into an indoor farm and market with solar panels.
We are a small family working towards our dream of converting the family owned auto body shop into a family owned farm. We are striving for a more sustainable way of life while enjoying it. We do not use any chemicals and/or pesticides. We also use very little water with our mulching system.
More mushrooms. Tylor with Alpine Valley Mushrooms hooked me up with some mushroom compost last year at the Mercadillo. The kids and I spread it in some wood chips and coffee grounds. Looks like success!
2nd mushroom flush was a success! Still trying to figure out the best time to harvest. Luckily, I listened to the wife and harvested sooner. We love eating mushrooms around here. High in vitamin d and many other micronutrients! I'm using the base and some of the stems to inoculate more coffee grounds in smaller buckets.
The wheel hoe. Powered by puro corazon y huevos. We are cultivating some previous ground that we had the pigs on. We like using the pigs to control a lot of perennial weeds. There is still some perennial weeds but nothing too major.
Fungal dominant soil
More baby goats! Cuteness overload.
Goat yogurt with maple. I'm so glad the kids enjoy the stuff I make! A great way to get our probiotic and calcium.
The kids sure know how to get them in a row! We have one area planted with radishes, carrots, peas, and lettuce. Really liking the wood chip aisles!
We are planting some peas and lettuce. We like interplanting. We maximize out space. The lettuce will be harvested and gone by the time the peas are ready for harvest.
Story time in the sunroom.
Blue oyster mushrooms fruiting. We inoculated some coffee grounds with some mushroom stems from Alpine Valley Mushrooms. We are super excited for some omelets!
Sage hydrosol/ water now available at and Valley Roots Food Hub. The kids and I like spraying it in our mouth and on our face. Very refreshing!
Love grows.....

Maple goat milk flan. Ohh la la oui oui!
Honey goat milk custard. So delicious!
We're getting after it over here. This little guy can plant an earthbox in about 3 minutes!
Full throttle or no champagne bottle!
Goat cheese with fresh rosemary and chives that we grew.
Welp, that's a wrap on butchering for a while! Sure nice to have a full freezer and one less paddock to water and feed for a while. It's not easy raising and butchering your own animals. But, the quality is so worth it!
Herd shares available. Raw milk, cheese, yogurt, caramel and more. Please message for more information.
Some pictures from a busy spring day. I found blue mon with a dead baby. She had stalled out so we took her to the vet she pulled out four more babies. So far 2 have made it.
We got some new milking goats. Our son loves walking them around.
Then we fed the pigs some avocados we scored from RMSER.
Whew!
Baby goat season. This baby is a mini nubian dad x boer goat mom. The kids are proud and excited!
The boss helped gut a pig. Then she skinned and butchered it all on her own! Lads, find yourself a farm gal.
We love slow cooker stew. I was glad to get some help slicing and sampling the veggies. We used goat leg for the protein. Then added some potatoes, carrots, celery, and onions.
Got a nice score of free goat food from the tree trimmers. Lots of pine needles! Goats are browsers and really like leaves and bark which gives good opportunities for free feed.
Sourdough whole wheat rolls/biscuits 4 ingredients:
130 grams of sourdough starter
3.5 cups whole wheat flour Gosar Natural Foods
