I know we are still in August but have you thought about the New York City Veterans Day Parade? Such an awesome feeling marching up 5th Ave in Manhattan. Now we have you thinking, start planning.

Today I stopped by the Tusten Summer Club to see the kids, they wanted to thank me personally for the $15,069 donation I presented last night to the Tusten Youth Commission…today was an art club day. The kids were making these great lavender scented bags which I was given one
Anyone attending the National Convention, this should be a great time! Register in advance (it’s free!) so they can get a rough headcount for food.

Important Message for all members who stayed at the Holiday Inn - Niagara Falls for the recent Detachment Convention:
Please check your credit or debit card statement to be sure that you weren’t charged sales tax (provided that you turned in the proper paperwork when you checked in). Some members are reporting that due to the hotel computers being down on checkout day they were incorrectly charged the tax. If you have been charged the sales tax by mistake please call the hotel and they will have it corrected for you. The proper rate is $169/night, for most members staying 3 days the correct charge should be $507.00.

Attention all Sons members:
We have been informed that there will be an internment service for Past Detachment Commander Jeff Jordan this Saturday July 27th at 10am in St. Mary's Cemetery in Belmont, NY.
On the way home from our 50th Convention in Niagara Falls we had the pleasure of stopping by Camp Good Days in Branchport, New York to present a check for $1000 from the Sons and American Legion Detachment Of New York, they were in the process of having a cookout for children recently diagnosed with cancer… other activities planned for that day were taking them out on the pontoon boats on Keuka Lake..Thank you to Alisha and her staff for taking time out to give us a tour of the grounds and various buildings.
