Pain after joint replacement? The replacement itself could be perfect but there are secondary reasons for the continued pain. In the past month we saw patients that complained of post replacement knee pain that ranged from 8 months post replacement to over 10 years. They went to typical therapy and it didn't help. If you are experiencing arthritis pain in one leg and your only previous injury history involves a sprain, surgery, or fracture in the other leg, the arthritis is likely a result of the initial injury. The arthritic leg is compensating for the injured one, causing it to hurt. It's important to address the underlying issue with the originally injured leg.
