Mike Garramone with his partner Arlene shown here in the original location of Arlene‘s Artist materials on Madison Avenue has sadly passed on. He along with Arlene started the business in the early 1960s converting the first floor of a two family home into a retail store and also the living quarters for his family. They rented out the top floor, did framing in the attic and ceramics in the garage. They outgrew the original space and moved to the current location on Fuller Road in the 70s. While many people know Arlene as the face of Arlene’s he was the behind-the-scenes partner who ran many aspects of the store He will be missed.

Familiars opens this coming Monday, 10/21! ✨
Familiars is a solo exhibition featuring new work by artist Kate Wolford. Mystical and surreal, this body of work delves into themes of mythology, fantasy, nostalgia, animalia, and self-identity. Blurring the lines between painting and sculpture, Wolford's small-scale, intricate pieces are painted in egg tempera or acrylic on panel and displayed in unique, hand-built custom frames. Drawing on the wonder of childhood memories, her work explores creatures in dream-like settings and her own internal myth-making.
