Out of an abundance of caution, the Zoo will be closed Monday, August 5. The Park and Campground remain open.
Summer Camp will be moved to Flint RiverQuarium. Camper drop-off & pick-up will be at the Adventure Center next door to the aquarium. Parents will need to park and bring their camper to the entrance of the Adventure Center (directly across from the plaza fountain).
Please note that we will allow an earlier drop-off time of 8:15 am to accommodate the location change and weather.
Camp will resume at Chehaw on Tuesday, August 6 as regularly scheduled. Please feel free to reach out to Jackie, our Education Director at 229.349.1210 with any questions.

We love our creative staff!
Guest Services team member, Stephanie created this awesome Red Wolf spotlight on our Gift Shop chalkboard highlighting some facts about Red Wolves you may not know.
Your continued support is vital in our participation in the conservation of this native canid. You can help support our efforts by simply visiting Ghost and Waya at the Zoo. Be sure to stop by the Gift Shop and check out Stephanie's chalkboard mural while you're here!

Happy National Zookeeper Week! Please join us in honoring this amazing group of hardworking animal professionals. Our keepers devote their lives to the care, conservation, and education of the very special animals that we house.
Their dedication ensures that each animal receives the highest standard of care. Zookeepers often work long hours, braving all kinds of weather, to provide enrichment, maintain habitats, and monitor the health of the animals.
You can celebrate their hard work and unwavering dedication by visiting the Zoo and spreading awareness about the vital role zookeepers play in preserving our planet's biodiversity. Here's to all the incredible zookeepers who make a world of difference every single day!

The Splash Pad has been repaired and is up and running again! Thank you for gour patience. Splash Park is included in Park admission and runs from 9:30 a.m. until dark each day.
It is with heavy hearts that we share sad news about our Alistair, the much-beloved Miniature Cow.
Keepers and Veterinary staff had been closely monitoring Alistair's quality of life following a steady decline in his health. Earlier this year, the Zoo’s veterinarian diagnosed him with arthritis that eventually became debilitating and unmanageable with medication. Zoo and Veterinary staff made the difficult decision to humanely euthanize Alistair and allow him to pass peacefully surrounded by the love of his caretakers.
The entire Chehaw family will miss Alistair, especially the keepers who have cared for him over the past eight years. We hope you’ll join us in celebrating his life.
