NYPTA's Board of Directors are meeting at the association’s HQ in Albany to move our 2024 plans forward—and to prepare for Transit Awareness Day tomorrow.

As we recognize Black History Month, today, February 4 we honor the life and contributions of civil rights activist Rosa Parks on Transit Equity Day. Her refusal to give up her seat on a Montgomery County bus in 1955 sparked the Montgomery County Bus boycott. Ms. Parks’ would have been 111 years old today.

Transit Equity Day promotes equity in transportation and raises awareness about the importance of transit to all members of the communities we serve.

The NYPTA Annual Conference starts this morning with representatives from the FTA, DOT, and APTA, to speak at our Transit Industry Breakfast. Thank you to everyone who has joined us in Albany this week!

The NYPTA 2023 annual conference and expo officially kicked off this morning with Keynote speaker Nat Ford, CEO of the Jacksonville Transportation Authority.
