In-person training and hands-on learning has been the standard for nursing instruction at Maria College for almost 65 years. But technology is allowing us to expand our program, reach, and interaction with other students. Maria’s new virtual reality labs are the newest way to bring a range of scenarios and challenges into the classroom.
The new Maria VR Labs create “a virtual space where students come together and practice working with virtual patients. In this environment, they have to assess, communicate, and collaborate with each other to try to move through the scenario,” said Jason Coley, Director of the Center of Academic Innovation.

More than 30 alums with their families joined staff, leadership, and friends at last night’s tight win by the Tri-City at “The Joe” baseball stadium in Troy. Our group enjoyed ballpark food, some fine Maria-branded SWAG, post-game fireworks, and even some mascot camaraderie, to boot.
We love engaging with our alums from all graduating classes, with events on campus as well as family and community events off-site, like last night’s Maria College Night at the ballpark. Stay tuned for more alumni activities on the horizon - we’d love to have you join us!
