As you can see in this video, wild animals really use these passages and the passages are critical to reducing habitat segmentation which poses a huge threat to genetic diversity within species. These passages help animals cross safely, help populations of wildlife in the long-term, AND make roads safer for drivers!

Please help get this bill passed in New York!

Email Subject: Keep EATS language OUT of the Farm Bill

Email Message: Please delete EATS language from Title XII of the Farm bill-- and anywhere else it occurs

Let's remember all the work we did for farm animals! Donations, petitions, letter-writing, calls to politicians... thousands of us, advocating, agitating, rescuing...

Last year, we patted ourselves on the back when the Supreme Court miraculously upheld Prop 12. But, as soon as it did, BigAg drafted the EATS Act to undo decades of our advocacy for hens, pigs and cows. Again, we mobilized and rejected cruelty.

HOWEVER, the Republican Chair of the Agriculture Committee, Glenn Thompson, sneakily inserted the same language into the massive Farm Bill. If that language isn't challenged and deleted, the same rollbacks will occur when the Farm bill passes.

Sneaky, right?

Luckily, we can stop this catastrophic roll-back on better animal welfare (e.g. banning gestation crates). New York's Senator Kirsten Gillibrand sits on the Senate's Agriculture Committee. We are Senator Gillibrand's constituents, after all.

๐Ÿ“ข No racing in Scotland for a whole month! ๐Ÿ“ข

Greyhound racing has once again been called off in Scotland this week due to a lack of dogs and no bookmaker. The track has stated that it is now closed until February without further explanation. Mercifully, there now seems to be a severe lack of dogs, with the track begging for more entries every week and often cancelling. The surface is so poorly maintained that it often cannot cope with the Scottish climate. Add to this the lack of public support and bookmaker absences, and it looks increasingly like Thorton will imminently collapse.

Great news for the dogs!
