David Hunt - Albemarle City Council District 2 Candidate

Last night everything became official! After the swearing in ceremony, David took his seat on the city council and the work began! Thank you for your support…continued prayers for wisdom, strength and courage will be much appreciated.

These numbers represent the trust of my neighbors to represent them. Thank you to all for your support…I will do my best to honor that trust as I serve.

Today’s the day! Get out and vote…and if you can vote for David Hunt for Albemarle City Council-District 2!

Another endorsement letter:

I am writing this letter in support of David Hunt as a candidate for City Council – District 2. All of David’s adult work life, he has served the people of Albemarle. I have no doubt that, if elected, he will continue to do his best to serve the residents with honor and integrity.
David retired in 2020 from a 30-year career in law enforcement, most of which was with the Albemarle Police Department. During his career, he rose to the rank of Captain and closed out his career being responsible for training and accreditation, a role that required incredible attention to detail. Shortly after retirement, he went on staff at Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care where he served families during the most difficult time with compassion and care.
Most recently, David joined the staff at Stanly Community College where he is the new Training Coordinator/Qualified Assistant for In-Service Law Enforcement. Through this new role, David will continue to serve our community by preparing new officers who will protect and serve our residents.
David grew up here in Albemarle and has lived here his entire life, graduating from Albemarle High School. As the son of a retired high school teacher, he grew up knowing the difficulties that teachers face and seeing the value of serving others despite the difficulties faced.
David’s experiences in work and life have prepared him to serve in such a role as a City Councilman. He understands what it’s like to raise a family, send kids to college and do all this while working hard in a stressful career. He knows what it’s like to manage a household budget and work with a municipal budget. He knows what it’s like to do your job, balance justice and still earn the respect of the people you serve.
I support David Hunt for City Council – District 2 because he knows what it’s like to be in the shoes of those his decisions will affect. He will serve the citizens of Albemarle with an awareness of the issues, a consideration for all solutions and a desire to see our city be the absolute best it can be.

As we approach the November 8th election date it is the responsibility of each one to evaluate the qualifications and motivation of the candidates.
I would ask the residents of District 2 to consider Mr. David Hunt. I find Mr. Hunt a man with the qualifications to lead and provide the leadership we are looking for.
I have known Mr. Hunt and his family for many years and know him to be a man of faith and one that will do his best if elected. His many years as a law enforcement officer and a heart to help others will prove to be our best choice.
