Despite a few cold days this week, the weekend looks PERFECT for the Cape Fear Kite Festival - hosted by the Pleasure Island Chamber of Commerce!

Your favorite h***y tonk / outlaw country band, The Old North State, will be getting an early start @ 11am this Saturday down at the Fort Fisher Rec. Area (right next door to the Aquarium).

This is a FREE FAMILY EVENT so bring everyone and come spend the afternoon with us and a few thousand close friends!

We truly want to thank the hundreds of you who showed up for our show at the Blakeslee Air Force Recreation Area on Friday night! As you'll see from the photos we collected, it was an amazing night right on the Cape Fear River with a beautiful sunset and a great time had by all - especially the little winner of our zombie costume contest!

While the rest of the band prepares to play the kite fest on Saturday (Nov. 4th - 11am-3pm), our lead singer and songwriter, Bart Lattimore, is actually staying on Pleasure Island this week and playing lots of solo / acoustic shows in ! Details are listed below:

It's been over a year since we played the outside stage along the Cape Fear River at what was the Fort Fisher Air Force Rec. Area (now called Blakeslee Air Force Recreation Area) so we can't wait for TONIGHT!

Gates open @ 6pm.
The Old North State starts @ 6:30pm.
The Food truck on site tonight is the T'Geaux Boys - serving up traditional New Orleans, Louisiana inspired cuisine!

At 8pm we'll be having a Zombie Costume contest, and we've collected over $300 in prizes to give away to the three best zombies in attendance! Big thanks to SeaWitch for their contribution to our and their beautiful mascot, Bubbles!

This Monday July 3rd at The Boat House at Lake Tillery we are shooting a music video for the official song of Peanut Patch Boiled Peanuts “GET BOILIN”!!!! As Christmas Day starts winding down - we’d like to take a minute to reflect on 2022.
