We would like to thank the “voice on other end”. These responders do not get enough credit for the job they do. From answering the 911 calls to interpreting radio traffic and coordinating resources needed for all of the various emergency scenes, our job would be incredibly more difficult without them.

Our annual business meeting will be held on Dec 11th at 6PM, all residents & property owners in the Endy fire district are encouraged to attend. Among agenda items includes discussion on a re-write of the existing by-laws.

This weekend when the time changes,
remember to also change the batteries in your smoke detectors and CO(carbon monoxide) detectors! Stay Safe...

We are out at Agri Civic Center today from 9a-3p. We have the fire safety house set up and some special gifts for the kids while supplies last. Come see us and all the other vendors!

ANNUAL MEETING

Endy Volunteer Fire Dept Inc will hold the annual public meeting on Dec 12 @ 6PM. This meeting is open to all who reside within the Endy fire district. This meeting will serve to elect several new members to the board of directors overseeing the business operations for the fire department.

We continue to watch the forecast track and associated weather predictions. Members have been preparing and ensuring equipment is operational for whatever we may see from this system. Please take the time to prepare as well. As always, do not attempt to drive through any flooded areas/roads.

The 343 FDNY firefighters killed in the September 11 attacks on the World Trade Center’s Twin Towers hailed from 75 firehouses across the city. These firefighters did exactly what they said they would do the day they took the oath, risk their lives to save the lives of others. They went inside, knowing they may never come out because it was their job.

09/11/2001

8:46 a.m. - Flight 11 crashes into floors 93 through 99 of the North Tower.

9:03 a.m. - Flight 175 crashes into floors 77 through 85 of the South Tower.

9:37 a.m. - American Airlines Flight 77 crashes into the Pentagon. The crash and fire kill 59 on the plane and 125 on the ground.

9:59 a.m. - The South Tower collapses after burning for 56 minutes. More than 800 people in and around the building are killed.

10:03 a.m. - United Airlines Flight 93 crashes near Shanksville, Pennsylvania after passengers and crew storm the cockpit. Forty people on board, excluding the hijackers, perish.

10:28 a.m. - The North Tower collapses after burning for 102 minutes. More than 1,600 in and around the building are killed.

On Sunday, 9/11 we will be sounding the station siren at the times marking key events from that day in remembrance of those lost.
