We were pleased to work with Fireline Shields to make these custom leather helmet fronts so all of our personnel will be easier to identify while working on scene and not to mention looking good too!

We are proud to announce that we have lowered our fire department rating from the previous 9S, down to a 6. This is a huge accomplishment for the dedicated volunteers that commit to protect the residents and properties within the district and provide assistance to neighboring communities as well. This lower rating goes into effect July 1, so be sure to let your property insurance company know of the change and see if it could save on your next insurance bill. We would to thank State Fire Marshall Brian Taylor for personally presenting us with our results.

Our members have put in a lot of effort over the past couple years to improve training, aquire new equipment, and organize our records to prepare for an ISO Inspection which not only grades us on our preparedness but also determines the discounts on property insurance the residents of our district receive. We received the inspection in December and find out the results of our hard work Tonight. Stay tuned for more info.

Station 28s training this week consisted of cross over search and rescue training with Millingport VFD.
Search and rescue training is integral for firefighters in the search for victims in order to get both the victim and firefighters out safely. Carrying strategies, search procedures and team work are vital to search and rescue training. Working with other departments and working with them well is also vital in knowing how your team operates on scene ensuring everyone goes home.

Station 28s training session tonight.
The Entaglement Box
Entanglement boxes help prepare firefighters for obstacles they can encounter on scene. In this particular instance the Entanglement box mimics wires and insulation under houses and in the walls and presents tangles that can snag air bottles, helmets and extremities and put firefighters in danger.
