Habakkuk 2:5-17 "Fill the Earth with the Glory of God" by Second Street PCA The church's mission is to fill the earth with the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ Jesus.

Habakkuk 2:2-4 ""Living by Faith" by Second Street PCA God answers Habakkuk. Tells him to write the vision on tablets. The word of god is firm and sure. God is the rock of our salvation. The righteous are not only saved by faith but are to live by that same faith, especially things seem darkest.

Habakkuk 1:5-11 "Judgment Begins with the Household of God" by Second Street PCA God tells Habakkuk that He sees the evil in Judah and is in the process of gathering judgment against her. Judgment delayed may be judgement in preparation. If judgment is coming over our nation due to sin, God will first deal with His churches in this nation.

Habakkuk 1:1-4 "Why and How Long?" by Second Street PCA We sometimes see trials, tribulations, and difficulties in our lives and in our world, along with sin and violence. We ask, along with Habakkuk, "Why?" and "How long?" How do we move from the position of confusion and anger to praise for our God, as did Habakkuk?

Christmas Eve Candlelight Service. 5:30pm. Second Street Presbyterian Church, Albemarle, NC (across from the Post Office and Albemarle Sweet Shop).

A Gospel service. A message about the Light of the World, Jesus Christ, foretold all the way from the Garden of Eden and fulfilled in Him by His miraculous birth, sinless life, shameful death on the cross, His resurrection from the dead on the third day, His ascension into Heaven, and His being seated at the right hand of God the Father. He is building His church, and the Gates of Hell shall not prevail against it.

The Light has come into the world and the darkness has not comprehended it.

We worship our Lord and Savior every Sunday evening. This evening we will have a service consisting of more scripture reading and more singing of Christmas hymns and psalms.

We complete this service by walking out of the church doors, into the darkness, into a world lost in sin. The church being the "light of the world", has the only message of hope: "Repent and believe the Gospel of Jesus Christ." He is the light of the world and He is building His church. "Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of Christ." You will hear the Word of Christ at this service. "It is appointed to man once to die, and after that, judgment." Jesus says, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, but through me."

Romans 15:30-33 ""Striving Together in Prayer " by Second Street PCA The church is weaker than she needs be because we are not striving together in prayer. Why should we pray? Because the Head of the Church commands it and because He loves us.

Romans 15:22-29 "The Task of the Church" by Second Street PCA The task of the church to spread the gospel all over the world, to make disciples. Each believer is to support participating in that great commission

Romans 13:1-7 "Servants of God" by Second Street PCA Paul calls the civil authorities His servants. All people are called to submit to their authority. How is the Christian and the Church to respond with civil government oversteps its proper authority or when it commands the evil?

Authority and submission, ultimately, to Jesus Christ. Why do we see such rebellion in the home and in the church? Because sin is, at the root, rebellion against God. Rebellion against male headship in the household and male leadership in the church is a current example of our rebellion.
