PEP stands for Post Exposure Prophylaxes, and it is a medication used to prevent HIV transmission.

This medication can be compared to the morning after pill, or Plan B.
It is a daily medication (taken for 4 weeks) after someone may have been exposed to HIV through unprotected s*x or other risks.

PEP must be started within the first 72 hours after being exposed to HIV, and when taken as prescribes is highly effective at preventing HIV
