Donor Tribute: Brendon Sokol Jr.
Brendon loved being with his friends and family and playing video games. He was especially proud of his Dodge Charger S**t Pack, which he enjoyed taking to car meets.
Days before his 19th birthday in August 2023, Brendon experienced a massive seizure and became a Donor Hero, saving the lives of others with his gifts.
Brendonβs grandmother, Anita, added his photo to her own Dodge Charger to honor his selfless legacy.

Shanon Pine became a donor hero on December 9, 2023, saving several lives by donating her organs, corneas and two heart valves.
Although she struggled with seizures and her disability, Shanon was a blessing who taught those in her life what love is.

Kara Peeks, a mother of three, made one final selfless decision by choosing to save lives as a donor hero on June 19.
Between 80 and 90 people, including hospital staff, family and friends, lined hospital hallways to pay their respects during Kara's honor walk.
This turnout broke the hospital's record for largest honor walk, and the clip received more than 65,000 views on Reddit!

At 31-years-old, Nathan Streeter became a donor hero, saving two lives with his gifts.

In recognition of National HIV Testing Day, let's celebrate the impact that the HIV Organ Policy Equity (HOPE) Act continues to have for HIV-positive patients on the transplant waiting list!
Signed on November 21, 2013, the HOPE Act permits organs from HIV-positive donors to be transplanted into HIV-positive patients, allowing more lives to be saved overall.

Donor Tribute: Gavin Cole
"My Gavin decided at 18 to become an organ donor. When his accident happened, we honored his decision. He lost his life on 11/28/21, and his donation surgery was on 12/02/21. Through donation, he saved five lives with six organs. I have a wonderful relationship with his heart recipient and his liver recipient. Gavin is our hero and a hero to many others in our community. He was a senior in high school preparing for his next adventure in life: college. Such a beautiful human!"
