Good morning, and thanks for following!
I've gotten questions about the topic and status of the novel I'm working on. I hope to have a first draft by year's end. I'm not even thinking about publication at this point. I'm focused on improving my writing.
It's a political thriller about a Hill staffer, Puck Sawyer, who works for the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence. Her husband, Linc, is on the Secretary of State's security detail. When a bomb explodes on the Secretary's plane, killing everyone on board, Linc is accused of having carried the bomb on board as part of a domestic terrorist plot to assassinate public officials. The working title is Open Season, based on a creepy Will Rogers quote: "There ought to be one day—just one—when there is open season on senators."
In her efforts to prove her late husband's innocence, she discovers things about him she didn't know. Some of which, in typical political thriller style, put her life in danger. There are a few subplots to further complicate things and to inject a little humor, but that's the overview.
