A few photos from today’s belt ceremony. It’s tradition to have parents tie their children’s’ belts. There’s also a lot of bowing. Congratulations to all the students who just got their new belts!

Today is a really special day. James got his 4th degree black belt in hapkido. James is an inspiration to all of us! Congratulations!

No regular classes today in honor of Presidents Day. Please keep stretching and practicing your forms and kicks. See you Tuesday!

Don’t forget to get to class today for your final Tae Kwon Do lesson of the year! The studio will be closed from 12/18/2023-1/1/2024 and will reopen for regular classes on Tuesday 1/2/2024. Happy Holidays to all of the BeRyong family and we look forward to seeing you all next year!

Chris and Jaysheel passed their first degree taekwondo test today! Congratulations on a hard fought test! Will post more photos and videos!

Today’s belt ceremony was a special one. Two students received their first-degree black belts in taekwondo, while one student received her second-degree black belt in taekwondo. When you receive a black belt, Master Yun ties the belt around you. There’s a lot of bowing in martial arts. Congratulations to these three students! Well done!

The Belt Ceremony will not taking place tomorrow, 9/30/2023. All students who tested and earned a new belt will receive their belts in class next week.

We zoomed the black belt test so that Emilia’s family could watch. Here’s the crew talking to the family after the test. Thank goodness for technology!

Congratulations to Emilia, Jeff and Ivanka on passing their belt test today! Emilia is going to be a second degree black belt in taekwondo while Jeff and Ivanka will be first degree black belts. It was a long and hard fought test and they did a great job. Master Yun says that come black belt testing day, when you’ve learned the kicks and forms cold, and you’ve trained hard to develop your stamina to survive a black belt test, the test becomes a mental one. You have to WANT to finish your test. Congratulations to these students!

The test is done! Emilia broke 8 boards for the final element of her second degree taekwondo test. Amazing!

The sparring has begun! These students are tired and doing great. Anyone can fight fresh. Who can fight after two hours of push ups, sit ups, kicks, squats, and forms? That’s why you train and train and train. Amazing.

When the push ups get hard, the black belts gather around to provide encouragement.
