We’re here for you at the Kitten Scavenger Hunt today!

Please join The Dog Park in supporting Homeward Trails’ first Kitten Scavenger Hunt of 2024 until 2pm today!

Participants start at our store The Dog Park (705 King Street) in Old Town and be provided with a flyer to continue solving the mystery!

When participants visit the kittens, the Homeward Trails volunteer at that store will stamp their flyer.

When participants visit each store and get all the stamps, they will be enrolled in a raffle to win prizes!

Although we think the grand prize is taking one of these cats home!!!

Get ready… set… kittens!!!

Mark your calendars for one of the funnest events of the year, everybody!

What is a kitten scavenger hunt? Around 6 stores will host a minimum of 2 kittens for a 2 hour event (12-2p) so people can meet adoptable kittens (kittens will be under 1 year old) and visit great shopping in Old Town.

How does it work?

1). Participants will start at (705 King Street) in Old Town and be provided a flyer with a map of Old Town on one side and clues for participating stores on the other (these flyers will also be available in each participating store).

2). When participants visit the cats, the volunteer at that store will stamp their flyer.

3). When participants visit each store/get all the stamps, they will be enrolled in a raffle to win prizes, provided by the likes of us!

We’re also hoping some attendees will fall in love with the kittens and apply to adopt them…

Periwinkle and her brother Anchovy are looking for a home together. With the cutest tufts in their ears, Periwnkle might just get away with stealing human food while Anchovy distracts you with his demands for belly rubs. They prefer a home without dogs.

Peanut girl, Acorn girl and Walnut boy are a delightful trio of kittens that are sure to steal your heart with their playful and affectionate nature. They have been raised in a loving foster home, where they have received ample attention, socialization, and care. Each kitten has a unique personality that contributes to their wonderful dynamic as a trio.

And rowdy lovebugs TOM AND HOUDINI will be BACK! In the window. For ultra-lightweight kitty wrestling matches where the only thing they'll win is your heart.

We’re honored and thrilled to have purchased a new business, The Dog Park located in the heart of Old Town, Alexandria at 705 King St and Washington!

This marks the dawn of a new chapter… or at least revisiting one from our past… in the community and we look forward to serving you for all your pet needs in Old Town.

Thank you to our friend and founder of The Dog Park, Anna Fitzgerald, for allowing us to take the reigns of her beloved store. As some of you may recall, Noelie Rickey, who is a chef and partner in our business group, has a background in retail sales and was also a veterinary technician for over ten years. She’s looking forward to carrying on the strong tradition of solid product knowledge, outstanding service and no nonsense advice on products that Anna built the business reputation on for the past 13 years. Thank you Anna!

And me, , well I am just a life long lover of animals and cant wait to serve the pet community.

As some of you may already know, I have officially sold The Dog Park. These past 12+ years have been more than I could have hoped.

First, I would like to say thank you to our customers for your support of the business and myself. Thank you to those from out of town that stop back in to say hi whenever they come to the area. Thank you to all of our locals who choose to shop small, and shop small with us. Thank you to everyone who has continually made Doggie Trick or Treat an immense success.

Second, I would like to say thank you the organizations that we have teamed up with over the years. Thank you to the rescues who have allowed us to help so many cats and dogs find safety and security with their forever homes. Thank you to the different vendors who have been rockstars throughout the years, creating fun, quality products that allow for us to be successful year-round. Your patience and support are greatly appreciated.
