6 days to go! Get those alarms set and start going to bed earlier. Being well rested is so good for your health!
One week away from welcoming our students to the Academy!
Today was the last day of the FATE Summer Jobs Program. They celebrated with a cookout that was a little soggy but was a great way to end their time together.
These 8 young people worked hard through the heat of July and together built 3 greenhouses at Irving Middle School, and framed the entire finished basement in lot 13 at SVE.
They also performed cabinet layouts, installed all the drop ceilings, niche and hardware blocking work on the top floors of lot 13.
What a summer 🏡
What an awesome sight to see 🥰 all of them are former Edison Academy Electrical and Construction Engineering students currently employed at Jim Corridon Electric Co. ⚡️💡
We love building community relationships and seeing our students thrive in the trades industry!
Thank you, Supervisor Lusk, for visiting our Construction Technology worksite! We are so proud of the work that has taken place this year!
Time for some rest and relaxation. See you all in August 😎

Today we recognize Juneteenth, a celebration and commemoration of the end of slavery in the United States. Also known as Emancipation Day or Freedom Day, Juneteenth marks a day in 1865 when enslaved Texans learned they would be free, two months after the end of the Civil War and two and a half years after President Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation.
Eid Mubarak to all who observe! Eid al-Adha, or the “Feast of Sacrifice,” is the second of two main holidays celebrated in Islam. Muslims believe that Eid al-Adha signifies the willingness of the Prophet Ibrahim, known as Abraham in Christianity and Judaism, to sacrifice his son, Ismail, as ordered by Allah. It focuses on sacrifice, the pilgrimage to Mecca and giving to those less fortunate.
Congratulations again to our Electrical Construction Engineering Instructor, Mr. Wolfe, who was recognized today by the Virginia Department of Education. Mr. Wolfe was selected as the Region 4 CTE Exemplary Program Award a few months back and today he attended a luncheon honoring that. Way to go Mr. Wolfe! 🎉
