The City of Alexandria's DASHing Words in Motion Poetry Contest's submission deadline is Friday, January 26, at 5 PM.

Writers 16 years or older who live, work, or study in Alexandria are encouraged to submit poems inspired by the DASH bus motto "Keep Alexandria Moving" as well as by the broader idea of transit and neighborhoods.

Poems will be reviewed by an award-winning panel of community members, including Alexandria's Poet Laureate Zeina Azzam. The winning poems will appear on DASH buses and trolleys for National Poetry Month in April 2024 and remain on display through May.
