ALIVE! is the largest private safety net for Alexandrians living in poverty and with hunger. An interfaith nonprofit organization founded in 1969, ALIVE!
is the oldest and largest private safety net in the City of Alexandria, VA dedicated to fighting poverty and hunger. has 50 member congregations. We are also supported by the City of Alexandria, local organizations and businesses, and volunteers.

Our furniture team delivered items to 3 families including furnishings for bedrooms, a living room, and a kitchen table and chairs for a family who recently lost everything in a fire.

This food distribution will start at 8am and end at 10am (or until supplies run out).

In December, ALIVE! will hold six food distributions for Alexandria City residents in need of food assistance.
ALIVE! provides free produce, chicken, eggs, and bread. Proof of Alexandria residency may be requested. Please bring reusable bags if possible.

Free groceries and connections to support services are also available four days a week at ALIVE!'s Food Hubs in Del Ray and on the West End of Alexandria.

Winter Fest at Patrick Henry Elementary School (4643 Taney Ave) is coming up on Sunday, December 3rd.

Are you ready for Touch A Truck on Saturday, December 2nd? Join us at First Christian Church of Alexandria (2723 King St) for this outdoor event from 3pm-4pm. This event is free to attend and participants are invited to bring diapers, baby wipes, toys, and monetary donations to support Alexandria's youth.
Join us on December 16th from 2pm-6pm for the 3rd Annual Santa Stampede in Carlyle, Alexandria! Start at any of the participating restaurants: Whiskey & Oyster, Sweet Fire Donna's, Tequila and Taco, or Lost Boy Cider.
Enjoy festive drink cocktails, signature party favors, epic holiday outfit contest, free photos from SnapStream, giveaways, and hop on the King Street Trolly between all restaurants. Each participating restaurant will have a drawing for a chance to win an amazing prize - must have purchased a ticket to enter!

Thank you to the more than 6,000 people who participated in the Alexandria Turkey Trot this year! We filled up the ALIVE! Truck with food donations and an $8,000 check to help alleviate food insecurity in the City of Alexandria.

It's an Alexandria tradition, the Annual Turkey Trot tomorrow in Del Ray! Roads will be closed to ensure the safety of all participants. The northbound lane of Russell Road will be closed and the southbound lane will be used to accommodate both north and southbound traffic. Please drive cautiously. There is one cross-over point in the Trot route at Commonwealth and Braddock Road. Let's cheer on the runners and walkers, gobble, gobble!

It’s almost time for the Fairlington United Methodist Church Annual Christmas Tree Sale! Trees will be available on Thursday, November 30th at 3900 King Street.

The Christmas Tree Sale at the Church of Saint Clement (1701 N. Quaker Lane) will commence November 24th, the Friday after Thanksgiving.
Trees are sold Fridays 5pm-8pm, Saturdays 10am-6pm and Sundays 12pm-6pm. until the tree inventory runs out.
