A huge thank you to for installing the new Adopt-A-Highway sign at the Xi Alpha Lambda Chapter’s second clean-up location at the intersection of Ridgefield Rd and Prince William County Parkway in Woodbridge, VA. Your support helps us keep our community clean and beautiful!

We are pleased to announce that the Brothers of XAL raised $11,289 in donations in support of March of Dimes. More work to be done!

Brothers of XAL participated in the Dale City 4th of July Parade

Brothers, Friends and Family! Please come out and join us tomorrow July 4th at the Dale City Independence Day Parade and Family Fun Day. The Parade will start at 10am ET for the general public at Kirkdale and Dale Blvd in Dale City, VA. For Brothers who would like to join us in the parade, please meet us no later than 9am for the Parade line up. See you there!

The Brothers of XAL hosted the annual Black & Gold Scholarship Ball via the Ira Dorsey Scholarship Endowment Fund. Over $70,000 in scholarships was given to deserving students. Onward and Upward!

The Brothers of XAL and visiting Brothers from OAL/APL showed up in force to support the Greater Prince William Juneteenth Parade. The Program celebrated the D9 and had many dignitaries who stopped by to pay their respects for the Juneteenth holiday. Many thanks you to all the Brothers and their families who came out to support today.

Brothers, please come out and join us at the Prince William Forrest Park tomorrow at 9am to represent Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. in the Greater Prince William Juneteenth Parade. Friends and Family are also welcome to attend the festivities that begin at 10am. See you there!!

Today, we, the Xi Alpha Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., proudly seated in Prince William County, Virginia, honor our roots and celebrate our growth.

We extend heartfelt appreciation to the original 34 brothers who, through their hard work and vision, chartered this chapter on May 31, 1981. Your dedication has laid a strong foundation that continues to flourish.

Every brother who has been a part of Xi Alpha Lambda has contributed immensely to the growth of our brotherhood and has paid dividends to the community through service and leadership. Here's to the enduring legacy and continued excellence of our beloved chapter.

Congratulations to Ms. Jailah Salley who will graduate from Manassas Park High School this weekend, for her selection for an Xi Alpha Lambda Chapter Ira Dorsey Scholarship based on her exemplary academic, athletic, and extracurricular achievements and potential for continued excellence and service to others in college and beyond. Jailah earned a 4.4 grade point average and earned multiple academic awards at MPHS. She also served as Treasurer of the student government and multiple other organizations, played varsity volleyball, served as a dance instructor and is a visual artist. This fall, Jailah will matriculate at Spelman College in Atlanta to study Economics.

Jailah and 13 other outstanding scholars will also be recognized at XAL/IDSEF’s annual Black and Gold Scholarship Gala at the Ga***rd National Resort on June 22. The event is 90% sold out and tickets are available at idsef.events. We look forward to having you join us to celebrate the accomplishments of our 14 outstanding scholarship recipients.

A XAL shoutout to our very own chapter brother, Bro. Dr. Mark Brown (Major General (R)), on his outstanding accomplishment of becoming the President of Tuskegee University, his very own alma mater. Onward and Upward!

Special shoutout to our Brotherhood Enrichment Chair and Veteran Mike Gibson (far left) for leading a 20 mile Memorial Day weekend Bike Ride this weekend with the Brothers of XAL and a visiting Brother from APL. The Brotherhood Enrichment Committee is responsible for overseeing the wellness and the fitness of our Brotherhood via our AlphaPhit program. 06 and Happy Memorial Day to the Brotherhood!!! 🇺🇸🫡🤙🏾

Xi Alpha Lambda Chapter and the Ira Dorsey Scholarship Endowment Fund presented scholarship certificates to two graduating seniors at Hayfield Secondary School: Ms. Hailey Ayers (at left), and Ms. Kennedy Banks. Both of these outstanding scholars plan to pursue STEM majors at Historically Black Colleges and University this fall. Hailey will study computer science at Howard University, while Kennedy will study mechanical engineering at Virginia State University.

Hailey and Kennedy and several other outstanding graduating seniors will be awarded their scholarships at the XAL/IDSEF Black and Gold Scholarship Gala June 22, 2024 at the Ga***rd National Resort. Congratulations to Hailey, Kennedy and all of our 2024 Ira Dorsey Scholarship recipients on their noteworthy accomplishments in the classroom and in school and community activities and demonstrated potential for success in college and beyond!

Exciting news! The brothers of XAL, through the Ira Dorsey Scholarship Endowment Fund, have awarded three additional scholarships to deserving students from Hylton, Gainesville, and Patriot High Schools. These three exceptional scholars, along with 11 other outstanding recipients, will be honored with $5,000 Ira Dorsey Scholarships at our annual Black and Gold Scholarship Gala.

May Chapter Meeting in the books. The brothers were graced with the presence of Supervisor Margaret Franklin and Bro. Marcus Childress. Bro. Raymond Haston Jr. (Charter Member), received a framed copy of the Commendation given by Prince William County for the work that XAL has done in the community.

This morning prior to the May chapter meeting, the Ira Dorsey Fund leadership visited NVCC Woodbridge for the final meeting of the year of the Future Kings STEM Mentoring Program, to present our fifth (of 14) Ira Dorsey Scholarship certificate to Mr. Shawn Sanders from Stafford High School.

Shawn, pictured along with Dr. Arik King, Executive Director of Future-Kings.org, and the Ira Dorsey Fund leadership, is another 4.0+ student who served as Vice President of Stafford High School’s Math Honor Society, an officer in the Latin Culture/Spanish Club, a member of the swimming, cross country, and baseball teams, and has received multiple other awards too numerous to mention. This fall, he will attend Norfolk State University, where he'll study Computer Science.
