Can tooth enamel help determine the s*x of human remains?

A new method for determining the s*x of human remains has been discovered. This could have important implications in a variety of contexts, from archaeological investigations to legal proceedings. The new method uses peptides from tooth enamel, which is a durable human body tissue. This approach is more affordable and faster than DNA sequencing and does not depend on the quality of the DNA sample.

Can mouthwash raise your blood pressure?

A study published in Frontiers in Cellular and Infection Microbiology shows that a compound in mouthwash destroys healthy mouth bacteria that helps maintain blood pressure levels.

After collecting samples from study participants, the researchers at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston found that "twice-daily chlorhexidine usage was associated with a significant increase in systolic blood pressure after one week of use."

Dental implants are a more costly treatment for tooth loss than bridges and crowns, but they can save you money over the long run because of their lasting durability.

An average bridge and crown treatment will last between 5 and 7 years. No matter how well you look after bridges/crowns, you will need to get them replaced, usually more than once throughout your lifetime.

Why is flossing so important for your oral health? Consider this...

When it comes to oral hygiene, brushing can only do so much. Regular flossing helps remove food particles that a toothbrush cannot reach. If those bits of food stay on your teeth too long, they can start to ferment and change the composition of your tooth structure. As a result, you may start to notice that some of your teeth are beginning to crack.

Of course, we know how much dogs 🐢 love to chew on non-food items. But humans are guilty of doing it too, such as gnawing on a pencil or biting their nails. Here a few things that don't require chewing (or even drinking) that can ruin your teeth.

βœ”οΈ Biting non-food items
βœ”οΈ Caffeine
βœ”οΈ Alcohol & drug use
βœ”οΈ Brushing & flossing too hard

As always, it's important to get routine dental checkups and discuss with your dentist other habits that may be putting your dental health at risk.

How is a holistic dentist different from a traditional dentist? πŸ€”

Answer: Holistic dentists receive the same training as traditional dentists, and the difference is that holistic dentists look at the whole person, not just their teeth. They believe that dental health is connected to overall health and well-being, and they try to address any underlying causes of dental problems.

Traditional dentists are more likely to focus on treating symptoms rather than addressing the underlying causes of dental problems. This can lead to unnecessary treatment and overuse of antibiotics and other drugs. Holistic dentists are more likely to use biocompatible materials and natural remedies.
