Itโ€™s bittersweet. As I began my yoga teacher training, as an employee for the City of Allen they nurtured my first official classes here. Over the years, Iโ€™ve taught all ages with a variety of classes from senior chair, prenatal and kids yoga. Such a beautiful community of yoga enthusiasts whoโ€™ve shown up for community events with outdoor yoga! Beyond grateful and excited for more! Thank you Divine Creator and all of you loves for creating, sharing, and holding space for me.

Talk about big, BIG LOVE!

Until we meet again!

Hey Loves!

Full transparency my knee has felt inflamed and sore for weeks. Combine that with some awful poison oak exposure and life has felt real challenging. Yet, Iโ€™m so grateful! Iโ€™ve been nurturing all of it and I wonโ€™t let that stop me from moving. Trauma is stored in the bodyโ€ฆitchy skin and all. If your hearts desire is to get better, make movement matter. A little bit goes a long way. And Yes! Forever a nature loving, country girl to the core!

Much Love!

Did you know yoga can prepare you and your loved one for birth? Having a developed practice is good prior to pregnancy, but you can start yoga in the 1st, 2nd and even the 3rd trimester and experience amazing results.
Movement matters for EVERY BODY. Yoga for EVERY BODY. ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ

THIS is one of my favorite ways to nurture couples and prepare them for labor. Itโ€™s such a wonderful reminder to the birth person that daily movement matters. Equally important to her supporting partner of how much physical, mental, and spiritual work goes into how they show up as well. An average first time birth can last up to 24 hours. This will mean your loved one will need massage, meals, and lots of mindful attention to successfully get to the other side. So many partners walk away from the birth process exhausted with little to no complaint (possibly in fear of being shamed) about how sore and tired they are as well. While we know itโ€™s definitely not as strenuous as giving birth, but thereโ€™s a lot of work that goes into good support. Yoga is not only great for stretching, building strength and endurance; it helps with breath work and mindfulness to remain calm, and to listen to your body as well. Yoga is for EVERY BODY. Birth is intended to be a beautifully sacred way to connect to one another and bring you yet again even closer. Isnโ€™t this a lovely way of connecting?

Lift this sweet family in prayer, their baby is expected any day now.

Happy Loverโ€™s Day!

It has been our joy getting to know, love and love some more of this little sweet human. I was warned for our daughterโ€™s entire pregnancy that life as a GRANDMommy would change me in ways I couldnโ€™t imagine. Iโ€™d like to say I had some insight; as I recall years ago watching this same daughter jump on her Nanaโ€™s sofa and my mom simply replying sweetly โ€œthatโ€™s okay.โ€ to everything she did that would have gotten me in big trouble as a kid. Life is sweeter!

Over the last couple months Iโ€™ve had many moments to breathe, nourish, and share with dear ones in person. I look forward to extending this love back to all of you. Such greatness! I look forward to sharing much more with all of you soon!

Much love!

Loved one it is so important for you to remain active during this time of creating new life. Asana poses and movement like downward facing dog (Adho Mukha Svanasana) is one pose in particular that is recommended daily.

If you are experiencing heartburn, high blood pressure, eye condition Glaucoma, high levels of amniotic fluid, breech baby recently turned in third trimester or it just doesnโ€™t feel good youโ€™ll want to avoid this pose. I absolutely love this work! I remember the first time I had a pregnant one join a class I was subbing for when I first became a yoga instructor. I almost froze in fear worried that I wouldnโ€™t give good modifications. In my desire to help and become more effective in sharing the benefits with clients and students in class I read many books and watched hours of prenatal yoga on YouTube. I knew this type of training could only take me so far. For many months I researched several programs and this summer I began leveling up my skills. I chose The Dolphin Method Prenatal Vinyasa Training (THE Absolute Best in my opinion) with Jennifer More who has done this work for many moons. She is an excellent yoga and doula instructor! So donโ€™t mind me just all in the feels today and completely hype after our final wrap up session together.

Keep moving those beautiful baby belly loved ones! Itโ€™s one of the best ways to get your body ready for the big birth day. Connect with your breath, body and baby. Find a local class near you and if youโ€™re ever in my neck of the woods letโ€™s groove move with baby together!

The connection starts long before you lay your eyes on your sweet little one. โ€œOne study (Verny, M.D., Thomas, and John Kelly, The Secret Life of the Unborn Child pg. 48) in particular, conducted by a Constantine University psychologist, Dr. Monika Lukesch, involved 2000 women. They were from the same intellectual and economical backgrounds and were studied while pregnant as well as after giving birth. The area of study was concentrated on how they felt about their unborn child.
The results of this study showed women who were looking forward to becoming mothers had children who were healthier on a physical as well as an emotional level than the children of mothers who were not looking forward to the experience. While the prenate does not have an understanding of feelings such as an adult does, the unborn child is able to sense even slight differences in emotions. (Ibid, pg. 18) Sensing and reacting to feelings of doubt and uncertainty as well as stronger emotions such as hate and love is possible and quite probable.โ€
Being loved, knowing youโ€™re supported, and having a community to surround you is so important. Taking moments to connect is critical now. Taking care of yourself, eating well, and movement matters.

This is a part of my squad captured here back in the day. As a young Mom, I was grateful to have these dear sisters beside me(minus a few ๐Ÿ˜˜).The one beside me (Shannon ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿฝred)was the first mom to nurse her sweet baby. Although I had seen only a handful of women in my life nourish their baby this way, her divine guidance lit the path and inspired me to do the same. Even as a young mom and busy college student, I witnessed her also taking the time to assist another loved one with breastfeeding challenges. Not long after taking this picture we moved several states away from family and friends. With challenging nights and long days reflecting that she did difficult things and so could I sustained me. To say she influenced me as a young mom and catapulted me to help other moms along the way would be an understatement. To all of you nurturing your little ones; having a strong, positive, loving squad(spouse/partner,friends,family,community), great doula with resources loved ones around you for all the things really do matter!

Prenatal yoga is such an amazing way to prepare for labor. Breath work, building strength, and focus are just a few of the benefits one can count on if they choose to engage in a regular practice while pregnant. Yes, rest is important, but being active is too. Keep moving!

This is one of my favorite photos with the four of us. Just looking at it reminds me so much about the kind of person, mother, and best friend she was to each of us.

Her son was very shy growing up and I never heard her ever โ€œmakeโ€ him talk to anyone he didnโ€™t feel comfortable talking to. She did her best to raise him as a single mom and was always there for him no matter what.

Her youngest, Shunda was described as a โ€œtomboyโ€. June bought her the red shoes like her favorite cousin Glennโ€™s and never discouraged her from expressing her own style. She tried cheerleading, but you could tell sheโ€™d rather be on the field. The following season, June signed her up to play football. She was so excited to play with her friends and cousin. Shunda also chose baseball and could care less that sheโ€™d be the only girl on the team. Shunda never felt or had a need to โ€œcome outโ€ to her because of how she loved her.

Our time together was shared talking for hours, watching movies, and playing games together. She once said to me that when it comes to compatibility Scorpios and Geminiโ€™s were like oil and water. All 3 of us were born in November. To say she experienced many challenging moments would be an understatement. Consequently, itโ€™s what I think of when I mix essential oils in water. The water allows the oils to go through the air shifting smell and lifting energy! She was the water the life force and we were the oil. We trusted, love, respected, and cared for her deeply.

I am truly grateful for her life and how she led the greatest example of unconditional love!

June 16th our Motherโ€™s Day. โœจ Happy Heavenly BEarthday Momma June!

Happy Earth Day Loved Ones!

How do you honor and celebrate today? A few years back, we had a plan to attend as many Earth Day celebrations as possible. This event was at Dallas Fair Park. We ran into friends, family, and enjoyed many of the Earth friendly vendors that were there. Kanani even got a wish granted to step out of both our comfort zones! ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

Are you looking for a way to celebrate ? ๐Ÿง

๐ŸŒJoin me for yoga at Blue Sky for Gentle Flow at 5:30. (Like how I snuck that in?! ๐Ÿ˜‰) (Earth Day Every Day)

๐ŸŒ Intentionally recycle. (Earth Day Every Day)
๐ŸŒŽ Utilize earth friendly products . Check out our friends and
(Earth Day Every Day)
๐ŸŒŽ Plant something. A tree for shade, organic vegetables or herbs. (Earth Day Every Day)
๐ŸŒ Visit local farmersโ€™ market (Earth Day Every Day).
๐ŸŒŽ Create earth friendly cleaning solutions to replace commercial toxins. Baking soda, vinegar, lemon essential oil. (Earth Day Every Day)

๐ŸŒŽ If youโ€™re in or near Dallas White Rock Lake letโ€™s gather for self care healing *organized by Sherri Doucette of Wellness. Go to her page for details. (Earth Day Every Day)

Lastly, whatever you do, intentionally do it with love!

Neighborly Love:
We have lived in our neighborhood for over 5 years and we love it here. For me, it feels like a refuge, a place of solace and peace. However, yesterday we became aware of a tragedy that occurred just yards away from our home. An entire family is gone. While I may not know this family personally, I know this community. Many of us are active in some form; we walk and wave. Our hearts grieve for this family knowing all too well the pain when loved ones struggle with mental health and lives are taken. While I canโ€™t speak on the particulars to this home, in some way I know there are many of us who are really feeling this deeply. I woke up this morning asking what can I do? Spirit said give what you needed the day after your sister was taken. Tonightโ€™s class is in honor of the family on Pine Bluff. May you Rest In Peace. โœจ

An Empowered Birth:

Hey Loved ones! The saying โ€œWhen you know better you do better.โ€ is so true. As a Momma of 3 and 1 angel baby; I can tell you that I learned some very powerful lessons with each pregnancy, loss, and delivery. There were many things I wish I simply knew before that could have saved me some heartache and sleepless nights. Throughout the years, it has been a purposeful practice to share, encourage, and nurture many on their journey to motherhood. In this upcoming workshop, An Empowered Birth, my sister-partner doula Sherri and I set out to share many of the things we know all mothers need to know in order to feel better prepared for their birth. Join us as we unwrap:
