This picture, taken in 1949, is the business’s 2nd and the first of three 3rd generation owners (Nelson and son, Alan).
The wholesale business (A. Gemmen and Sons) began in the early 1940’s (started by Albert Gemmen) followed by the opening of our retail store, The Meat Market, in the late 1980’s.
