Pa. food pantries scrambling without state sustenance HARRISBURG — Connie Haibach surveyed 1,300 boxes of food being prepared for shipment to 3,000 hungry people in Crawford County by the Center for Family Services on Monday.
From Second Harvest:
Information from several sources indicates that an increase in the minimum wage in Pennsylvania will be part of the budget deal that will end the impasse in the General Assembly.
Telephone calls to your senator are critical now if you support the increase of minimum wage to $10.10 per hour, with a built-in cost of living increase, and an increase for tipped workers (currently set at $2.83 per hour).
Here is a list of the senators who serve some part of the six-county area of the food bank:
Sen. Lisa Baker (R 20) (717)787-9242 [email protected]
Sen. John P. Blake (D 22) (717)787-6481 [email protected]
Sen. Lisa M. Boscola (D 18) (717)787-4236 [email protected]
Sen. Patrick M. Browne (R 16) (717)787-1349 [email protected]
Sen. Mario Scavello (R 40) (717) 787-6123 [email protected]
Sen. John T. Yudichak (D 14) (717)787-7105 [email protected]
Even if you know that your senator is supportive, call and thank him/her for their efforts.
