The UniPower LLC - Small Enough to Care, Big Enough to Matter

Unipower LLC was founded in 1998, and incorporated in 1999, when married “power” couple and working professional team Jennifer and Matthew McDevitt tapped into their entrepreneurial spirits and decided to build a UPS services company from the ground up.

Jennifer had been employed by a global Fortune 500 company in the medical imaging and diagnostics industry. She traveled extensively across the United States in her many roles within the company and it didn’t take long for her to become highly skilled and experienced in performing and managing technical support at a national level. Jennifer has leveraged her corporate experience to provide professional back office leadership and management for UniPower LLC.

Matthew had been working for a small UPS manufacturer which had a global reach. Like Jennifer, he also traveled extensively, however, while Jennifer traveled mostly domestically, Matthew’s travels took him all over the world. He often found himself in situations where resources and communications were limited and he quickly learned how to partner with local colleagues to complete projects on time and within budget. Over the years, Matthew gained experience in field service, technical training, service management, applications engineering and product management. He now specializes in all operational aspects of critical power systems for UniPower LLC including project management, technical sales, field service, equipment training and team development.

With Jennifer’s corporate back office support background and Matthew’s hands on field experience they were determined to make their dream to start their own company come true. One year after their first daughter was born, they combined their interests, talents and experience to begin their journey serving the critical power industry as new business owners and UniPower LLC was born.

Like many start-ups, they had humble beginnings in the basement and garage of their house. Within two years, they expanded into a facility in Easton, PA, then into their current location in Bethlehem, PA . They’ve always had the mindset of the small family owned business that cares, which dictates how they treat their clients, vendors, employees, even their neighbors. However, their scope and capabilities allows UniPower LLC to support major Fortune 100 companies as good, if not better, than much larger companies that have been around much longer. It’s how they became known by their clients as the company that is “small enough to care, yet big enough to matter.”

With close proximity and easy access to major north and sound interstates, their Bethlehem office is a perfect location to serve the entire northeast corridor of the United States, and their many clients in the New York City/Philadelphia metropolitan area.
