Citizens of Alma and Bacon County, there is a big change in the works currently. I will be resigning as manager and going back to work in Waycross as a clerk. My last day will be next Thursday, September 5. It has been an absolute pleasure serving this community in the short time I've been here. While it is bittersweet to be leaving you, I leave you in the more than capable hands of my friend and coworker Caleb Holton. Caleb has been a citizen of Alma all his life, and he has eagerly served the community at this library with grace for three years. Please feel free to drop by and give Caleb your congratulations as he takes this big step! As for me, I'll see you all in Waycross, and I'll visit every now and again! Thank you again. 'Till our paths next cross.

You already have Ancestry Library Edition at your fingertips; now the Latter-Day Saints missionaries in the Alma area are delighted to introduce you to Family Search, an additional genealogy platform that they will walk you through on how to use. They will be here Monday, September 16, from 6-7pm and will be staying an additional few minutes afterward for anyone who needs help. We appreciate everyone's patience during our summer feeding program! This past Monday was our last day putting the program on. Thank you for coming in and allowing us to feed you and your families. Here's to next summer!
**UPDATE**
We have run out of boxes, but we still have two bags of milk! We'll see y'all next Monday, July 15 starting at 10am for the last day of the summer feeding program! Thank y'all so much for being patient with us through this program.
I didn't get to snag many pictures this time around due to the library being busy and crowded (all amazing things!), but I want to extend my thanks to Sam the Turtle for being such a fun, creative entertainer to all these kids and adults yesterday. If you didn't see him, you absolutely missed out. Safe travels to your next journey, and we hope to see you again (just don't bring pickles! 🤣)
Come see Sam the Turtle today at 11:00 am!
Come see Sam the Turtle tomorrow at 11:00 am!
The fire fighter story time/meet & greet was a blast and a half! 🔥🔥 Huge thank you to the Alma - Bacon County Fire & EMS for taking time out of their busy day to read a special fire truck story, show us some of the gear they use, let the children explore the truck, and last but not least for breaking out the fire hose!!
If you have been coming to the summer feeding program for the past few weeks, you know how inconsistent the delivery times have been. For that, we apologize. The nutritionists and delivery drivers have their own schedules they need to meet, and it's been unpredictable. The GOOD NEWS is at last we have a consistent time. The new time to get to the library for the feeding program is every Monday at 10am, right when we open (please note that the doors will not be unlocked until 9:58am, so I advise everyone to stay in your vehicles while waiting on us to open). This will continue until the feeding program ends on July 18. PLEASE share and get the word out to anyone who needs to know, especially those without Facebook. Thank you so much for your patience. We hope we've been a great help to the hungry folks of Alma-Bacon County during these hot summer days.
Join us today at noon for fire fighter story time, and to check out a real fire truck!
