Dr Emily just got cleared to return to normal life! That being said, she has a lot of clients to catch up on 💙 so August availability is VERY limited!

At no fault of her own, Dr Emily has been in a severe car accident.

Although her car is totaled, she walked away with only a broken wrist. (RIP to the blue Subaru 🥺)

Dr Emily will be having surgery on this Thursday, June 13.

That being said, she will not be able to adjust for a few weeks while she recovers.

Fortunately, we surrounded by talented colleagues and even better friends.

Dr Ashley Monell from Harmony Animal Chiropractic has so generously offered to do some coverage work for Dr Emily and her patients June 20 & 21.

Connie tried her heart out yesterday completing her first ever training level test 1, training level test 3, and a full 2’6” course!

These 4 girls!!!!

Alexa Ryan-Oat and her girl Cora pulled in 3 ribbons in the .75 meter divisions bringing home the most swag of the group 🤩

Isabelle Powers and her girl Sky started the weekend in the .90 division. Excelled and moved up to the .95’s. And finished the weekend with their best round in the 1 meter division!! ⚡️

Talk about GIRL POWER 💪🏼

Titan & Jenna qualified for Regionals at the Flight Line dressage show last weekend with a score of 68 at First Level test 3.

They also WON their equitation class!!

These two have been working so hard to get here, and I’m honored to be apart of their journey!!

The BIGGEST congratulations to my clients Stirrup Sugar Salute and Linda Stallings for coming in 3rd in the Championship Open Ameatur Trail Boss and 4th in the Open Trail Boss division, some of the hardest courses of their career so far!

They got here by WINNING their first few divisions earlier in the competition.

This pair is just getting started!

Meet Reggae! He is a 12 year old OTTB who just got a new mom last December

She is currently working on getting him to relax in his new home, getting him to carry himself, in addition to building flexibility and mobility with lots of stretchy bendy work

His mom felt as though he was bracing one direction more than the other, and that he was having a hard time relaxing evenly both ways in all 3 gaits

Why do horses lick, chew, yawn during / after their body work?

Short version:

Licking, chewing and yawning in our 4 legged friends during body work is a sign that they are releasing tension or stress

Nerdy 🤓 version:

horses who have recently traveled or travel often for shows, compete regularly, and are in an intense training program can often be in “fight or flight” mode aka operating out of their sympathetic nervous system.

Body work treatments aid in releasing stress and tension, activating the “rest and digest” or parasympathetic nervous system.

Yawning (resting) and licking and chewing (digesting) are signs that your horse is responding well to their treatment.

Adding body work into your horses routine benefits them in more ways than just the physical 🙌🏼
