There are so many terms floating around for hair techniques: Balayage, foilayage, money piece, root tap, color melt...

It’s hard to ask for the service you want if you’re unsure what these terms even mean!

For example, do you know what a balayage is, or why it’s called a balayage?
The word balayage actually comes from the French word “balayer” which means “to sweep”. Which, if you’ve ever had a balayage done, makes total sense! When we balayage we are sweeping our color brush over the hair to create a gradual, seamless blend! Because of the sweeping motion, it creates a beautiful, natural looking effect.

1. Inspiration pictures
Creating a visual for what you want for your hair will help us out, as well as give you peace of mind that you have portrayed exactly what you are wanting!

2. A book or iPad with your current favorite binge. You’re going to be in the chair for a while and sometimes scrolling Instagram can get boring after a couple hours. Bring that book you’ve been wanting to start, or dive back into that TV series you’re binge watching. Whatever you enjoy!

3. A shirt underneath your hoodie or jacket.
The bulkiness of these can make it difficult to do your hair, and they get in the way of coloring or shampooing. So make sure you wear something underneath!

10 Tips to Avoid Looking Like You Just Stuck Your Finger in a Light Socket!

It’s finally starting to feel like autumn! The leaves are going to start changing, the weather is cooling off, and you might be dealing with some crazy hair from all the static!

Don’t worry - we got you!

Here are 10 tips to reduce static:
1.Start using a moisturizing shampoo and/or conditioner

2. Incorporate a deep conditioning treatment weekly or biweekly

3.Use a leave in conditioner

4.Shampoo less often to avoid stripping natural oils

5.Swap your plastic hairbrush for boar bristle

6.Ditch the towel for a microfiber hair wrap or t-shirt

7. Swap your cotton pillowcase for a satin or silk one

8.Lay off the heat and when you do - always use a heat protectant

9.Beware of sulfates and alcohol in your hair products

10.For on the go, keep a dryer sheet in your purse and rub it over your hair for a quick lay down if all else fails!

This gorgeous client came in wanting to get something done with her hair but she just couldn't guite pin point what exactly it was.

Let’s talk adding movement to hair!

This client came in asking about wanting more movement in her thinner hair. Nicole added some short disconnected layers at the top to help get that volume and movement she was looking for at the root while also keeping her hair looking full at the ends! Nicole also cut about an inch and a half off of split ends off that was weighing her down.
