2021 is coming to an end and as we reflect on this year, we realize how grateful we are for all of our amazing patients! We couldn’t do it without all of YOU! We are also grateful to have one another as a team, to have our doors open and to be able to continue serving our community and delivering great dental care. We are thankful for your trust and support that allowed us to do so.
We have decided this year again to make donations to the less fortunate in lieu of holiday gifts and greeting cards. HAPPY NEW YEAR
Dear Family and Friends, Colleagues and Patients,
2020 is coming to an end and as we reflect on this year, we realize how challenging a year it has been for all of us. We hold those who lost loved ones and lost jobs and livelihood in our prayers as we count our many blessings, for it is during hard times that they shine most brightly. We are grateful to have one another and to have added Pat and Baby Ayako Rae to our team this year. We are blessed to have our doors open and to be able to continue serving our community and delivering great dental care. We are thankful for your trust and support that allowed us to do so.
This year has emphasized all that we take for granted: human interaction, simple tasks of everyday living, travel and more. But nothing is ever more important than the blessing of good health.
We have decided this year again to make donations to the less fortunate in lieu of holiday gifts and greeting cards. Our charities of choice this year were CURE Childhood Cancer (www.curechildhoodcancer.org), Palestine Children’s Relief Fund (www.pcrf.net) and Children’s Tumor Foundation (www.ctf.org ) in support of Cure NF with Jack (www.curenfwithjack.com).
We would like to again thank you, wish you a very blessed, healthy and safe holiday season and a happy 2021.
Kind regards,
Maha, Janet, Amanda, Pat, Lisa and Akiko
Happy Thanksgiving from our team and families at ProEsthetic Dentistry to yours
Introducing our latest addition to the practice for our patients‘ and staff’s safety. This is a brand new state of the art extraoral evacuation system. The first patient we used it on baptized it as “Rosie” (as in the robot Rosie from the Jetsons- we love the name and love you Lauren 😘). Rosie has a fine particle as well as a HEPA filter and an internal UV sterilization light. We placed our order in April only to finally receive her last Friday. As the numbers of Covid-19 cases have significantly increased since March-May she will allow us to deliver treatment more safely, return to using our beloved and missed hygiene prophy jet, schedule patients more efficiently while maintaining our office as “Covid-19 tight” as possible. The safety of all involved in our dental office is our utmost concern and no effort or equipment will be spared.
Collaborative case: Dr. Joseph Pausa (Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Office of Dr. Joseph Pausa, DMD), Dental Keramik by Michael Beerli and Veristic Dental Studio by Chris Delarm and ProEsthetic Dentistry: Implant crown # 7 and PLV # 10 with composite bonding # 8 and 9
2020 has been and continues to prove that it is a crazy year with a lot of hardship for so many and on so many levels. I wanted to write some good news. My friend Chris Delarm has set up his dental lab ( Veristic Dental Studio) in my office and we have started collaborating on cases with my existing dental colleagues and lab partners. This gives me hope and excitement for the future and I look forward to normalcy and more great things. You all stay safe and well :)
To all fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, fathers in law, godfathers, foster fathers and father figures out there: We hope you are being celebrated And cherished today and every day ❤️
To Our Dear Patients
We hope this message finds you and your family in good health. Our world has been through a lot over the last few months, and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety.
For our practice, infection control processes have always been held to the highest standards and latest recommendations as you may have observed during your visits to our office. We continue to do so during the Covid-19 Pandemic and have been working on securing all the needed personal protection equipment PPE. We want to reiterate previous messages that your health and safety, as well as the health and safety of our team, has been and continues to be our top priority.
Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued.
We made some changes regarding our appointments to help protect our patients and staff. For example:
• Our office will communicate with you beforehand to ask some screening questions. You’ll be asked those same questions again when you are in the office.
• We have hand sanitizer for your use when you enter the office. Additional Hand sanitizer stations will be installed in the near future.
• Our waiting room will no longer offer magazines and reading material, since those items are difficult to clean and disinfect.
• Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. That might mean that you’re offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment. We will also ask you to call us from your car upon your arrival to ensure that we are ready for you in the treatment room before you enter the office
• We are doing our best to allow greater time between patients to reduce waiting times for you, as well as to reduce the number of patients in the reception area at any one time. We are currently still only seeing one patient at a time pending additional equipment.
We look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we take to keep you, and every patient, safe in our practice. To make an appointment, please call our office at 678-593-3130 or visit our website at www.proestheticdentistry.com.
Thank you for being our patient. We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming back our patients, neighbors and friends.
Sincerely,
Dr. Maha and Team
A very Happy and Healthy Mother’s Day to all our Mothers, Friends and Patients out there. Enjoy the L❤️ve your Day brings.
To Our Dear Patients,
7 weeks ago we were advised by the CDC and the ADA to close our offices to routine and elective dental care and only attend to dental emergencies with heightened PPE and social distancing measures.
We have been doing exactly that and I can honestly say that I have missed my team, my patients and my business as it was.
In the past couple of weeks the State of Georgia has been working towards reopening and the guidelines for dentistry have been more difficult to figure out. While we cannot wait to resume our “business as usual” patient care, we have to do so in the slowest and safest manner to ensure the safety of our patients and staff.
I have been securing more PPE for our common safety and will slowly start increasing our patients. Currently we are still seeing only one patient at a time in the office and hoping to start having a hygiene day soon without the use of aerosols generating prophy jets, Piezo and Cavitron scalers.
We are ordering additional evacuation systems which are currently back ordered and should allow us to start increasing the procedures we can do and the number of patients we can see.
I appreciate your patience and understanding and will keep you posted as ProEsthetic Dentistry navigates it’s way through these most unprecedented times with your ultimate health, safety and well-being at heart.
Stay well and be safe

A blessed and generous Ramadan, a month of fasting and spiritual contemplation to all. Be well and safe 🙏🏼😊
How the every day operation in the dental profession is forever changed.
What will Dentistry look like after COVID 19 Pandemic As of today April 17th 2020, neither CDC nor the ADA have established a protocol or new standards that might guide the dental professional, to increase protection against the novel Coronavirus 2019 or COVID 19, this pandemic has changed the world as we know it, social distancing habits look like wil
My patient of the day yesterday, possibly of the week, oh well.. my one patient in a Covid-19 while, Hana.. removing her Invisalign attachments and giving her a polished enamel smile.. thanks to Dr. Jim Awbrey for her beautifully straight teeth 😁

This sums up the life of a dentist in the past 4 weeks. I have done all of the above: talked to banks, loan officers, business and health insurance companies, the DOL, payroll companies, landlords and creditors, spent more time on call waiting than actually talking, written letters and e-mails, struggled with figuring out how to keep my staff and patients safe all while figuring out what the next steps are as we got flooded with different scenarios of partial claim unemployment applications, payroll protection program and economic injury disaster loan applications and maintaining contact with our patients, taking care of their urgent dental needs and constantly changing our schedule one week at a time. Spent more time reading article, watching webinars and on the phone with my accountant, lawyer and colleagues comparing notes and counseling each other as we face the same challenges.
On the home front I had to do what everyone else who has high schoolers staying at home and sheltering in place while attending online school, a senior who is disappointed about all the canceled senior year highlights and bills and disinfection measures had to do.
It is the strangest and toughest of times for us globally. I worry about all my friends on the front lines in hospitals and ERs, about my family in Egypt as well as in other countries but I continue to be grateful for the health of my family, my team, patients, friends and neigbours and their families. Taking it one day at a time, trying to stay on top of the necessary, identifying where I can be of use for my personal and professional families as well as for my community, while enjoying the things I typically wouldn’t have had time for like building two raised beds with my daughter Hana and starting our vegetables, herbs and fruits garden, catching up on my sleep and spending time with my family. Stay safe and well everyone.
Maha
