A Halloween Makeover; everyone loves hearing music in a minor key… so my student took her major key song, and halfway through, she changed it to minor and went up one octave- perfect for Halloween!
Our students are loving this music because it fires our imaginations and takes pianists on intrepid musical journeys. Bravo to my bold pianist!
In this short piece, you see a young person playing in one of his 1st lessons-I see a joyful musical moment, a confident player who’s happy playing interesting songs he loves. He’s so excited about playing the piano!
Here’s a young man who loves video games- we thought this piece captured the spirit of a few medieval knights and castles… a repertoire keeper!
Game On! Learning to play piano isn’t always done on the bench. Here’s a young lady drilling her skills in a game- check out the suspense as she draws her stick to reveal a theory question!
The best part of our musical experiences in the studio isn’t always found in a lesson book..it’s that special time when kids can improvise and play with others. This is fun!
Inside our studio; what a stirring moment in this song! A great way for young students to harness the power of music.🎹
Celebrating camp-a great way to refine those downbeat skills…this takes lots of practice with young students!
A great little piece for my beginner student; look at how she’s nailed all these hand-over-hand skills!👏👏👏
This has quickly become a studio favorite; composing, then performing your own music. This student was so excited to be able to create her very own song!
Another peek into Camp 2023; Boomwhackers are a perennial favorite-kiddos drilled their chord progression to Heart and Soul, created their own rhythm pattern, then had a blast performing together!
Any time of the year is a good time to learn some jazz for your playlist. This one’s a keeper!
Summer Camp 2023: Playing piano together means being able to keep a steady beat and know where the downbeats come. Fun experience for finding beat one!
Is it time to put the iPad down and engage in a meaningful musical experience?
We’re all working towards another 30 Piece Challenge this year…this young man’s on a roll!

Music and middle schoolers-love to see their feelings of pride when my kiddos can play satisfying music and experience success. Makes my day!
My beginner student’s eyes widened with excitement when she saw this keyboard- she tried with her feet but intuitively got on all fours for this awesome performance! Enjoy!
My student’s beginning to learn this new piece; already she loves the excitement and energy this music lets her play. Learning to be an artist at a young age is awesome!
What’s our favorite part of this lesson?Just playing the piano together-no video games or TV required!
Playing by ear takes a bit of inquisitiveness and tinkering, but really helps a pianist’s skills… and playing on Boomwhackers with your friends is just plain fun!
