Amazing full mouth reconstruction with dental implants 🤩
Dental Implants vs. Dentures
Dental Implants:
✔️Maintain just like natural teeth
✔️No chance of slipping
✔️They are permanent teeth replacements
✔️Prevents jawbone deterioration
✔️Looks and functions like natural teeth
✔️Dental implants can last for a lifetime with proper care
Dentures:
❌ More Maintenance
❌ They can slip out of place when eating or talking
❌Dentures often require replacement every five to seven years as the gums change shape
❌Doesn’t solve jawbone deterioration
Amazing orthognathic (jaw surgery) transformation!

Sleep Apnea & the Airway 💤😴
Did you know that the primary cause of sleep apnea and snoring is a narrow airway?
One of the most effective treatments for obstructive sleep apnea is called maxillomandibular advancement. This is a surgery that surgically repositions the upper and lower jaw bones which dramatically increases your airway space. Patients breathe better not only during the night but throughout the day due to the anatomical improvement in their airway.
The position of the upper and lower jaw plays a critical role in the airway space and obstructive sleep apnea. If during development, your upper and/or lower jaw does not grow in the proper trajectory, your airway space may become limited and lead to obstructive sleep apnea.

We are very excited to introduce Dr. David Best. He will be joining Dr. Loetscher’s practice in July 2024.
David Best, DDS, MD, is a board-certified, fellowship-trained oral and maxillofacial surgeon, with subspecialty training in pediatric cleft and craniofacial surgery. He treats both children and adults for problems regarding the head, neck, mouth, and jaws. Dr. Best will see patients in both Brookhaven and Alpharetta.
Dr. Best grew up in Kansas City and obtained his bachelor’s degree from Loyola University in Chicago, where he was a four-year scholarship athlete in NCAA Division 1 Men’s golf. He completed his dental degree, medical degree, and residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the University of Michigan. He then completed surgical fellowship in Buffalo, New York under the renowned Dr. Michael Markiewicz. In his fellowship, he obtained advanced training in complex orthognathic surgery, sleep apnea surgery, and pediatric cleft/craniofacial surgery.
We are so excited for Dr. Best to join our practice!
We are so excited to have our new in-house lab in our Brookhaven office!
What are the benefits of having an in-house lab for our patients?
-Ability to make immediate implant supported teeth that are delivered to the patient the same day.
-Experienced lab technicians “clinically” tuned into your
needs.
-Some of the most beautiful temporary teeth, made with natural “organic” smile design.
-Coordination by your surgeon and lab technician for the process of your tooth replacement — including implant surgical guide design, scanning of the implant(s) once positioned, and fabrication of your new tooth/teeth
-Your new full arch of teeth is a true one piece custom designed set of teeth (not a converted denture) manufactured on-site with the world’s best milling equipment.
Check out this transformation 🤩📸
This procedure involved one day surgery, replacement of teeth with 4-6 implants, followed by a restoration with a temporary bridge delivered the same day.
We then finalize everything 4-6 months later with a final bridge. It is always rewarding to transform someone’s smile and bite and give them back the confidence missing in their lives.
Life-changing transformation achieved with orthognathic (jaw) surgery. The “after” photo was taken just 6 weeks after his surgery.
Have you been to our new facility in Town Brookhaven?
Our new facility features an additional surgical suite, consult rooms, a conference center for continuing education and an expansion of our on-site lab.
We had a great first study club in our new space. We can’t wait for our next meeting on April 11th. 🎉
Happy Dental Assistant Week! We celebrated this morning with Chickfila breakfast. We are so thankful for our dental assistants and everything that they do 😊

Jaw surgery is not only performed for cosmetic reasons, it also improves airway functions. Most patients walk into our office concerned about their bite only to find out their airway is in need of improvement as well.
This patient is 6 weeks post-op. She has noticed major improvements in her breathing and is very happy with the cosmetic result as well!
