Spring is just around the corner and project season will be kicking into high gear! Although we don't think it really ever slowed down...
Sharing a few more recent jobs for your viewing pleasure! A remodeled bathroom with stylish features including new shower with glass doors, vanity top and sinks, and mirrors. Also custom built shed doors to match, and custom hickory shelving that makes great storage out of a bathroom corner space.
Wishing everyone a happy and healthy holiday season!
Sharing some pictures from recently completed jobs, including updated tile work, kitchen remodel, and LVT flooring install.
Sharing a variety of little jobs, which is what we love! Included are additional balustrade spindles made to match and installed, new roadside mailbox, assembly and placement of new refuse container, and new porch railing install.
How the time does fly by when it's busy! Sharing some photos of recent work with some striking tile designs, fireplace mantel, and bathroom update. See photos for more details.
A couple of projects this week involved some versatile neutral LVT flooring for a bath and a colorful green ceramic tile backsplash set off with an intricate patterned tile over the cooktop.
Here are a few recent jobs for your viewing pleasure! Included is an elegant tile backsplash, new double opening shed door, and driveway edge border with solar lights.
The past few weeks have quite busy with a variety of projects from flooring to backsplash, painting to ceiling tiles, and some vinyl siding repair!
Sharing a variety of recent work. As always, appreciate the many great customers I have the pleasure of working with!
This past week held some variety with a shiplap accent wall in a bathroom and a new wooden gate build and installation.
Check out the mosaic picket tile backsplash project, and the new bathroom LVT flooring installations!
It's been a busy time these past few weeks with a full home (walls and ceilings) interior painting with drywall repairs, a marble-look subway tile backsplash installation, and a modern new bathroom faucet update!
Loving the fresh new blue hue for these bathroom walls! And the neutral grays in the brand new tile backsplash add sophistication in this beautiful kitchen.
It's the season for updating those indoor spaces with fresh paint for walls and cabinets, adding tile accents, and pretty patterned flooring!
Another tasteful tile installation this week. It was necessary to remove the drywall and replace to properly mount the matte white subway tiles. An iron grout finishes them off nicely.
Lots of painting this week along with a glass mosaic tile backsplash installation. Nicely updated colors! Note the beveling on the backside of some of the tiles.
This week's post is installation of a dry stack stone tile backsplash. It really puts the finishing touch on this stylish updated kitchen!
To begin the New Year, it's time to review some recent projects. It has been a while since the last post, but things have been quite busy! I am thankful for all the great customers in the past year and look forward to many more projects in the year to come.
Good evening everyone. My apologies for the lack of posts to this page, but I have been extremely busy. This post will be brief so expect a more detailed one very soon.
As some of you know, I have been working out of an older Honda Pilot for almost a year now. Though it has not let me down the accessibility to tools I carried was becoming frustrating. So a couple weeks ago Judy Gale found a nice Ford Transit Connect work van on Facebook marketplace that the business was able to acquire. We will have a larger logo added at some point to the side but right now it’s being put right to work!
Rocking chair update
Judy and I did a little work on the seat and back today. We put burlap on top of the webbing on both sides of chair back and over the seat springs. The seat burlap is secured on the edges with staples and then using waxed thread is secured to the springs underneath. This ensures that the two move together.
On the seat back we then sewed bridal stitches, using them to secure the cleaned horse hair that is on top of the burlap. Over the horse hair is a layer of cotton batting and then the muslin is smoothed over top and stapled. I should have taken a picture as we assembled the back (I included one from when I was tearing it down so you can see the layers). The next step is to apply the fabric to the back.
Stay tuned 🙂
I just completed a basement bar project for a really great customer! He helped with the entire build including doing most of the tile installation himself. The counter is precast concrete (East Side Concrete in Altoona) and really helps to tie the entire project together. We also removed the carpet in the bar area and installed the dark laminate flooring. Really sharp!
Here’s to many great memories being created there 🍻
Completed an extensive project recently. Painted the kitchen cabinets, island and a dining room cabinets for a wonderful customer. Not shown in photos but the upper cabinets are also painted white on the interior. New hardware was installed afterwards.
Small update on the rocking chair we are refinishing. On Tuesday I carefully disassembled the seat, taking photos as I went. The springs and seat frame were in good shape and we are also saving the horse hair stuffing that will be washed and reused. Everything else was just worn out and ready to be replaced. Today the jute webbing on the back and seat was installed. The red stripe is a heavy weight webbing used in the seat area and the black stripe is lighter weight and used for chair backs. The seat is not upside down in the final photo. The webbing is on the bottom so the springs fit properly.
Great news everyone! https://www.honeydewjobs.com is now active. Please check us out and if you are located in central Pennsylvania or have friends or family there pass it along.

Completed the freshening up of a small powder room. Paint, laminate flooring and a replacement vanity gives it a very clean, modern look!
Partial powder room remodel for another great client! The old linoleum and damaged subfloor were removed and new subfloor with luxurious vinyl laid in its place. Baseboard painted and a new water saving toilet installed.
A few months ago my sweet wife rescued an old rocking chair listed as free on FB marketplace. The chair was in relatively good shape but the fabric was a little worn and some of the joints were loose. This is my first try at furniture repair and though I could have done some things differently I think it is coming along well. Stay tuned for more…
Another floor complete for the master bedroom. Looks nice in the photos but it really looks great in person! Thank you for the opportunity to help make your house into the home of your vision.
Starting to restore a pair of dining room doors. The old varnish is bubbling up in spots, one of the glass panes was broken many years ago and the bottom portions of both doors have damage from a dog scratching them. I have removed the first door from the clients home so I can refinish it properly.
Finished a small room redo for a great client of mine. Previously painted the walls and ceiling and today I finished up the installation of a floating laminate floor. The new floor looks amazing and totally transformed the room!
Winter, in the form of many inches of snow, has arrived in Altoona. For most of us this means spending more time inside out of the cold as well as preparing for the holidays. While wrapping presents and putting up decorations around the home think about giving yourself a little gift, the gift of crossing off some of the items on your "Honeydew" list. Every home could use a little TLC, whether it's stopping air leaks around the front door or repairing a broken bathroom tile, there are always little jobs to be done.
We love the little jobs and look forward to seeing your smile at being able to cross an item or three off your list!
