For more than 17 years AA Wellness (www.aawellness.org) has raised awareness of preventable health diseases that are killing black men and their families in the urban communities across the country. Impacting more than 100,000 people nationwide, this initiative has provided screenings and material distribution in such health areas as blood pressure, blood glucose, diabetes, prostate, HIV, dental, vision, sexually transmitted disease, colon assessments and especially mental health.
In addition to direct services and information provided to the community, this initiative has partnered with thousands of individuals and organizations across the U.S. over the years to empower communities by raising awareness and providing resources for this population.
