This month, the Port of Call at participating affiliated communities is La Plata, Argentina! The Port of Call program occurs once a month and gives participating residents the opportunity to learn more about a different country through games, fun facts, and cuisine. Stay tuned for more on this month's Port of Call!
We had a picnic on Friday to celebrate Labor Day with great food. Thank you to our dietary department & all the staff who helped serve. You girls rock!
On Saturday our residents enjoyed the Altoona Labor Day parade. It is great to be located in the parade route. They enjoyed the marching band, emergency vehicles and floats. The weather was perfect!

• The only way to get to Easter island to take a 5.5 hour flight from the Santiago airline
• In Chile, they eat Humitas as an appetizer or main dish; other countries will eat them for breakfast
• Tea is more popular than coffee in Chile

On Tuesday, August 13th we had a blast at our “MTO” Waterpark Party! The residents & staff walked/rode through our Waterpark that had a “Car Wash”, rainbow tunnel, sprinkler and kiddie pools to splash in. We also had water balloon and sq**rt gun battles. Music played while the residents & staffed enjoyed the beautiful day (the event was postponed from its original date due to bad weather). We couldn’t have asked for a better day. Thank you to all the staff who helped get residents out! You Rock!

Yesterday we had a Purse Silent Auction. There were 41 purses donated by staff & family members. Residents and staff had the opportunity to place their bids throughout the day. It was quite the bidding war! Thanks to all who participated!
