I do individual counseling, focusing on those who have experienced trauma or difficult times.
Now booking EMDR intensives for 2023. Call now to get in for a half day to 3 days of healing EMDR! 806-316-5131
We will also be starting a group to deal with the hard things that come with being in or leaving a difficult relationship. I (Paige Jones) ran groups for the local domestic violence safe house for several years. During that time I noticed a larger need for women in all kinds of difficult relationships. The support that comes from going to a group is fantastic.
Fresh Page Counseling is starting DBT groups this fall! DBT is a wonderful way to learn coping skills and is a great supplement for therapy or if you are just wanting to learn how to deal with hard emotions better!
I have a sweet little dog named Jazz. Some of you may know him from my office or just from social media. Every night, he runs to the corner of my yard (as you can sort of see in this picture) and deposits one of three balls in the corner. Every day he goes back out and retrieves it as if it is a wonderful prize.
I often talk to clients (or anyone who will listen) about giving ourselves rewards or small treats to help boost pleasure in the brain as a way to counteract anxiety, depression or just as a way to encourage ourselves to do tasks we don't like to do. I often get the response that it might not work if we are the ones giving ourselves the prize. I believe that as long as the prize is just as valuable as the ball is to Jazz it will most definitely still give us the boost we need. Just make sure the prize is worthy of the task. Make sure that you like your prize just as much as Jazz loves finding his ball.
Give yourself a treat today. The world has been heavy.
Brene Brown says that "The opposite of belonging is fitting in." She also says that we must first belong wholly to ourselves before we can feel belonging with others. I think Jazz is a great example of knowing how to belong to himself. And not worrying about "fitting in."
This is so important 💯 You deserve everything on this list!

Big news (horribly kept!) I've moved to Washington state. I am still supporting Texas clients virtually and cannot wait to talk more about what that looks like. In Washington I'm working with New Growth Counseling Services. It is a wonderful group and I can't wait to see what's in store. Give me a call if you want to know more!
Episode two of our six-part Summer Sister Series on "The Gifts of Imperfection," with my sisters, Ashley and Barrett, dropped today.
In this episode, we start with Guidepost #1: Cultivating Authenticity and Letting Go of What People Think and move into Guidepost #2: Cultivating Self-Compassion and Letting Go of Perfectionism. Practicing authenticity — and yes, it is a daily practice — is really connected to boundary work, so we admit the individual fears we each experience when setting boundaries.
We also talk about perfectionism as a process addiction, and how our imperfections are not inadequacies, but instead they’re reminders that we’re all in this together. spoti.fi/UnlockingUs
I hear people say all the time that it is "too late" to pursue a dream. Sometimes that is true (if you want to be in the Olympics and haven't been training since young it is unlikely etc) but most of the time it is not too late! What are your dreams?
