*THROWBACK THURSDAY* Can you spot any familiar faces!? This photo was taken at the "groundbreaking" of HPCH's first transitional living cottage back in October of 2014. It was specifically designed with our older kids in mind...the first of its kind on our campus! It is now lovingly known as the Christy Cottage. If you've never seen it, we invite you to come out for a personal tour! We'd love to show you around! ๐Ÿ”จ๐Ÿ ๐Ÿฅฐ

Myla and Myra, as well as the rest of our kids at HPCH, are excited for the new school year! New school supplies, new clothes, making new friends and meeting their new teachers are always some of the highlights for our children this time of year! Lots of new! Thank you for loving our kids and always keeping them in your prayers! ๐Ÿ“š๐ŸšŒโค

Journey (pink shirt) and Jealousy (blue shirt) enjoy some hot chocolate and cookies with their friends on the deck of the dining hall at Camp Blue Haven! Our children had such an incredible summer making lifelong memories and ultimately...they were encouraged in their faith. Tomorrow, all of our sweet kiddos will head back to school. We humbly ask that you keep our children in your prayers this week as they return to their studies and begin a new chapter in their lives. We are so excited to see what this new school year will bring! โœ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿฅฐ

We're not sure it has come down yet! ๐Ÿช*THROWBACK THURSDAY* Does anyone recognize this popular HPCH campus landmark that opened back in 1980? In this 44-year-old photo, the finishing touches are being made to the road and parking lot outside. If you guessed the Mayer Gym, you are CORRECT! What a great blessing this building has been to our campus throughout the years! ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ

Our children returned this past weekend from another incredible trip to Camp Blue Haven! So many special memories were made, and our kids are already talking about how excited they are to go back next year! Journey had so much fun on the ropes course while she was there! She even mastered the art of balancing...on stacks of milk crates! ๐Ÿฅฐ

To say that Myla gets excited when she gets to eat at Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers might be an understatement! Her toughest decision is what to eat first...the fries, the burger or the custard! Judging by the photo, I think we know what her favorite might be! ๐ŸŸ๐Ÿ”๐Ÿฆ๐Ÿ˜‹

*THROWBACK THURSDAY* Back in October of 2014, the Home was honored to host the Wednesday Ladies Bible Class from the Mary Ellen & Harvester congregation in Pampa, Texas. The ladies experienced a wonderful outing including a complete tour of the HPCH campus coupled with a delicious lunch served at the Blanton Place for Encouragement. Just before their departure, more fun was had when the ladies discovered the Homeโ€™s electric โ€œgolf cartโ€ donated by a generous supporting family in Oklahoma. Thanks again, ladies, for loving our kids! ๐Ÿš—๐Ÿฅฐ

- Roy & Karen Davis -

(14 Years - 3 Months - 21 Days) That's the amount of time that Roy and Karen Davis have been a blessing at High Plains Children's Home! Countless lives have been changed for the better because of Roy and Karen's presence at HPCH. The eternal difference they have made is hard to fathom. They have been such a light on our campus and have always been a constant source of love and encouragement. Today, we honor and celebrate Roy and Karen and their many years of service to all of our sweet kiddos! Today is also their last day with us and although we will miss them terribly, we are so excited to see where the "retired" life takes them! Roy and Karen, we love you...and we thank you...for everything! ๐Ÿฅฐ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽŠ

Happy Friday! The Williams Cottage girls had so much fun visiting the Oklahoma City Zoo! Their favorite part was seeing the lions! They also enjoyed learning about elephants and couldn't believe how big they actually are! ๐Ÿฆ๐Ÿ˜

"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart." - Hebrews 12:1-3

07/25/2024

It's Friday! We hope this weekend will bring you as much joy as this photo of Sandra riding on a big carousel! ๐Ÿฅฐ "Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." - Philippians 4:4-7
